If your washer does not toss, spin, or drain water properly, this might be because one of these belts has worn or stretched out. This results in the belt losing its grip and no longer driving the pump. The pump belt is black and made of rubber. The pump belt is located between the motor and pump underneath the washer. Simply remove the belt and hook the new one around the pulley. You may need to loosen or tighten the belt to ensure it is set in place properly.

Good application cross reference information, good substitutes and complementary products information, says its available, shows up on time when it says it will and has city to city tracking. Blame, praise Maytag for needing this twenty years after sale. It would almost be better if something would fail most well heeled equipment operators could get some nice fresh parts. As it is me, the writer, are stuck with quite a strange problem, half the tub bung broke off but not all of it. This lets the tub water spray all over the pump pulley causing 100% belt slippage. Sometimes. Depending on how the load settles and the hose gets gyrated around. Point is, beware, the economical, cost discipline design of the slipping belt spin bucket transmission clutch, is, in this scientists opinion, going to make sourcing a part for this belt application well nigh high dudgeon impossible. For twenty bucks maybe the savvy VCR clock crowd can figure out how to FABRIC WRAP a rubber v groove belt SO IT ***WILL** slip!!! Anywho...

The perfect fit of these new belts has made my old Maytag washer run like a brand new one. Installation was a breeze. So delighted with the solution these exact replacement belts gave me.

Easy to install. Replaced the drive and pump belts with these. Exact same as OEM belts at a fraction of the price. It only takes a few minutes to replace the belts. Repair people normally charge $75 for a service call and probably $50 for the belts. Save yourself some major bucks and do it yourself!

My washing machine started making a grinding noise and then started smoking and smelling like burning rubber… it was very concerning. I troubleshooted the problem and saw this was the likely solution and it was! I thought about purchasing the OEM part which was around $55 with shipping but this seemed to be easy enough that it should be fine and it was. I saw a YouTube video that explained it succinctly and it took me about 30 mins including cleaning the lint i discovered everywhere when I took apart my stacked unit. Washer works well again!

I am a DIY’er not a professional appliance repairperson. I had to replace the belt driven water pump on a 35-year-old top loading Maytag washer. In replacing the water pump, I also replaced the old belts with the item shown here. With the new belts on the drum would stop spinning mid-cycle with like only 10 gallons of water in the drum, no clothes at all. This happened in repeated tests in both wash and rinse setting. I replaced the belts with what I believe to be some quite old, but unused Maytag branded belts. I made no adjustments other than replacing the belts. From the very first cycle, these Maytag belts worked like new. No cycling off. I have no done about five loads of clothes and had no problems. I have absolutely no idea why the belts here did not work like the Maytag. They look fine, they seem to be the right size, etc.. All I can do is tell my story about what happened. I’m very surprised, but true.

Seem like good quality belts, but after I installed properly the washer would not turn the drum. I think they are just sized differently enough to not work.
