I used these to tie my deck roof posts to the top of the deck. They look really nice. I did buy some special, black lags to bolt them down: they come with cement anchors only. We don't get tornados or hurricanes here in Oregon, so I don't expect that my roof will be flying away ;-)

I have used about 12 of these over several projects, and they perform as expected. The included hardware is perfectly usable which is not always the case. If I were to have one criticism it would be that the flange portion could be a bit heavier duty. I have bolted these to railroad ties, which are not perfectly flat and if you use too much torque, the flange will bend a bit to conform to the shape of the substrate. Go easy with the impact driver and you'll be fine. I have an upcoming project building an outdoor kitchen, and will be once again using this product.

I so wanted this work. What first drew me to this product was the 6 holes around the base to anchor it to ground and the multiple holes to secure post to base, but once on I put post in and got it all secured I knew this was not going to work. The post was so wobbly and it only took a couple of tugs back and forth to separate the base from the collar ( see other reviews with pics) Product came with concrete anchors but did not come with any instructions or what size drill bite to use and if you don’t use the exact size your anchors won’t work. For the record I was attempting to use this for a fence post base over an area that had concrete slab. This product might work for really light weight application. But DO NOT USE FOR FENCE POSTS!!

Purchased this to hold a 6 ft 4x4 clothes line pole. The base attached securely, but flexed enough to allow the pole to wobble. Used guy-wires to eliminate the wobble. Wonder if a shorter mailbox pole would also wobble?
