I do a lot of 3D printing, and if you’re into it too, you know some projects need extra hardware—this is where threaded inserts like these come in handy. These are the smallest inserts I’ve worked with so far, but they’ve exceeded my expectations. They hold strong once inserted and have stayed secure in all my projects so far. The storage case they came in is also a nice bonus—sturdy enough to keep everything organized between builds. Overall, I’m really happy with these and can easily recommend them to anyone working on detailed 3D prints that need solid hardware.

While these are primarily describes as threaded inserts, the description also mentioned they can be used as heat set inserts as well. This would be my primary use for this size of insert (I might use larger ones in wood but for M3 my use case would be heat set into plastic). I printed a test jig and the 3.9 diameter hole (second column from the left) was the sweet spot. It set easily and firmly into my PETG print.I didn't really torture test it, but I did give it an opportunity to fail with some reasonable force and it held up.Overall, these will work for me.Item: 180Pcs M3 Threaded Inserts,Female Thread Metric Knurled Nuts Assortment Kit,Brass Heat Set Insert for Plastic Parts and 3D Printing Components,Heat-Set Threaded Inserts
