This lock works great. I'm my opinion It provides a good defense against intruders. It is a very solid lock. One of the best features of this mechanism is you can open your door while still having the lock secure. This allows you to see who's at your door clearly and you can accept small items, delivered to your door, by hand if necessary all while your door is still locked.

This is a very sturdy door latch. It also looks good on the door. For us, the install was a little tricky because of the molding around the door, but it worked fine. Both the door and the molding are wood, so we just needed to drill the screws into it with a power drill. Be sure to line everything up ahead of time and use a pencil to outline exactly where you want it. You definitely want to measure twice and drill once!

Took off my old latch which still works but is the wrong color. Got me a smart lock that’s black and so needed a matching latch. This one works but is simply flimsy. The latch moves up and down on its hinges. Returning.

Well I loves it , and it work good for 2 months then my blue heeler did this LOL . It was easy to do it. No problem at all. But my blue heeler disagree LOL

Initially, the lock worked great. But after 3 months, all 3 that I purchased stopped working - the handle gets stuck in the mid position and can't close. When you try to force it to close, it starts pulling out the screws from the door frame (!). Interesting that all 3 stopped working at about the same time - it makes me think that something was wrong with the manufacturing process. I tried to return, but only a 30 day window and NO WARRANTY per Amazon. Be careful before you choose to buy this product.
