The latch keeps bending if the gate slams shut from the wind. Not impressed as it’s very hard to straighten it once bent. This makes it very difficult to slide the latch into a locked position. This is the second one I purchased and will have to find a different latching product. Poor quality

This gate latch is much better than the slim latches originally installed by the fencers. Like other reviewers I was stumped at how the thumb rod easily falls out. The solution is so simple but not obvious. Insert the thumb rod fully, and then push it in further with force so it snaps into place. The manufacturer should have provided more details in the meager instructions provided.

Directions were lacking but the latch works fine. This is the second one that I’ve purchased so I already figured out the installation.the first one worked fine for a couple of years till a tornado wrecked my gate.

It seems like latch appears to be solidly built, providing a reasonable level of security for my gate.Its straightforward design allows for easy operation, and it blends decently with the overall appearance. While not 100% exceptional (you shouldn't expect $100+ level for this price), the latch serves its purpose and reliably keeps the gate closed.As for durability, time will tell how well it holds up against different weather conditions.

Both my husband and dad are incredibly handy and worked on installing this together. It is not a fast and simple install, but as long as you know what you're doing, this product has great functionality. It allows the gate to be closed once shut and the locking mechanism allows the gate to be locked from the inside without use of an additional lock. It is heavy duty and seems to have great durability thus far.

Ok, so I gave this a three for a few reasons. It is not heavy duty by any means, it is probably good for a gate that does not see a lot of use but I would not put it on a heavy gate or one that gets multiple use daily, I just don't think it would last long. My real issue with this product is the instructions, they are bad. It is pretty much 3 diagrams for swing in doors and 3 for swing out doors. It does not say what screws or bolts to use where and the thumb lever just keeps falling out. Not sure if I am missing a piece or what is supposed to hold it in place but there is nothing to hold mine in place so when the door shuts the piece falls out onto the ground. The instructions say they will replace missing or damaged parts and that their support is 24 hours a say but they fail to provide any contact information (email address, phone number or even a website URL). I guess I will try to search for the company, but should I have to do that?UPDATE: I reached out to the seller through the "contact the seller" feature at Amazon because I could find no other way to connect with them. It's been a week and I have heard absolutely nothing. It makes me laugh that they say their customer support is 24 hours a day but give no way to contact them and don't respond to the messages through Amazon. I would strongly recommend against this product

Heavy duty gate latch works perfectly very easy to install looks a lot more expensive then the price very durable I have a dog that can open gates but with this gate latch he can’t open the gate if your looking for a nice quality gate latch this is a must have highly recommend
