I needed a better-fitting head for my 14" Radio King floor tom. Modern heads' rims are a bit too small and can choke shell resonance. These heads fit well and don't choke the shell. Because they're 10 ml they have more durability but still closer to calfskin. It seems the usual sizes are quite difficult to find currently.

This is designed to fit over older drums that might be wider or a little warped. I ordered it by mistake for a newer metal drum. I decided to put it on anyhow and was pleasantly surprised. Seemed to sound a bit brighter than the Modern Vintage with the same vintage. Like all Aquarian coatings, this finish will last you longer than any other brand.

This is a very nice drum head and comparable to several models from Aquarian and other manufacturers. Vintage look with an excellent coating for brushes. However, where this head really shines is in it's ability to solve a lot of drum problems by being slightly over-sized. I have restored a number of vintage drum sets where this head fit and worked the best. Most recently, I acquired a very nice 1959 brass snare drum with a shell that was not perfectly in round. Apparently, the previous owner had dropped the drum to get it out of round. Conventional sized heads fit tight which greatly reduced drum resonance. These heads fit well on this shell and fit perfectly in the replacement rims. I must admit I generally use Evans heads. But these Aquarian heads have frequently brought new life back to vintage drums or shells that were not perfectly round.

I bought this head in particular because it is slightly larger than most drum heads. I built a stave snare drum that was just a tad larger in diameter than is recommended for new drum heads. This head fits great, has a nice tone, and a really great texture for brushes. Highly recommended.

Fits well ! crisp sound...Kind of pricey but you get what you pay for . They create a nice visual on a custom kit !

The Vintage Aquarian heads have a coating that lasts far longer than other brands. They sound fantastic and seemingly last forever. The tune up easily and sound great on toms and snares. Great for jazz, vinatge rock, and other styles. My first choice among all drum heads available.

This is a wonderful drumhead. I have been sold on Aquarian heads for several years and now I'm happy to discover these 'vintage' style heads. Wonderful, warm sound with a nice sustain. I use them on my old Ludwig kit. The heads match up nicely with the old six ply mahogany shells.
