I purchased an all in one sink/cabinet from HomeDepot for our little backyard gym. Unfortunately many big box items are made with cheap plastic. My previous purchase was no exception. The screw top that help the drain plug in place broke rendering sink unusable. Looking for a durable, cost efficient solution I ran across this beautiful stainless steal option. This drain plug is beautiful, rust resistant, strong, easy to install & a great value. We’re grateful to have sink back in full use without having to replace everything.

Easy install & works perfectly for a farm sink without overflow! Got this drain to replace one that came with a Lowe’s faucet that wouldn’t work due to it being for a sink with overflow. This is a much better quality drain and matte black matches faucet perfectly.

I really like this drain trap. It worked well. Like catching everything that was going down and stopping everything up. It caught all my beard hair trimmings in the little cup underneath the drain. I was able to empty it out quite easily.My biggest issue is that around the edges is starting to rust. It's supposed to be stainless steel and it definitely has some flawed material inside of there.

Superior quality! Easy install as you do not have to install the lift rod assembly. I bought 2 and installed on 2 different sinks. I have a few apartments. I may buy a few more. Exceptional quality fit and finish. So nice to push the stopped down and positively seal. Comparable units at HDepot $50

Excellent drains. Great price for two. Look good. Easy to install. The baskets catch a lot of stuff. Will help keep them from clogging.

So I purchased two of these and installed them both today. I think the folks who have had trouble with leaks may have encountered an installation issue. You must pay attention to the location of the washers. There are no instructions with the product so you have to look at the videos on Amazon. The first one took a bit longer than the second but that was to be expected. Disassembly of the old system was really pretty easy but don't forget to put a pail underneath the trap or you will have a few ounces of water on the bottom of the cabinet which will be most annoying. The order of the washers: One of the larger washers has to go on the upper sink side and it goes in "cone shape" down.. The washers on mine were put on the device out of order. The flat washer goes on 2nd, on the underside of the sink, followed by the other larger washer and the "cone shaped" part of the second washer goes up. Screw on the gold metal part and hand tighten. It really is a thin piece so I can see how it might break if over tightened. Next slide the screw top that attaches to the trap followed by the washer on to the drainpipe and then insert the drain pipe into the front side of the trap. At this point you need to adjust the trap so that it fits on the drainpipe and the other side of the trap on the exit pipe. Tighten each of those a bit so you know that everything will screw together correctly. Then tighten the gold piece on the drain pipe. You really have to tighten it a lot to make sure you collapse the washer on the top side of the sink. It seems to take more tightening that one might expect but if you don't do it correctly, water will puddle in the sink because of the way it sits. It's possible that this is also where leaks can develop. Don't overtighten as you could break the gold piece at which point you will be out of business. Tighten enough to assure a good seal, but don't overdo it. Then tighten the the screw caps on both sides of the trap. Same rule. Tighten securely but don't over do it. Run the water and check for leaks. At this point everything should be good.One thing you need to know which is not clear from the pictures and I'm sure it will annoy some people. When you put the top piece in the drain pipe, as you know, you push it down to close the drain and do the same to release it. Mine held water without any issues. However, when that piece is not pushed down to allow the sink to fill, it sits a full 1/2 inch about the drain hole. It is also quite large and looks a bit strange in comparison to the one you just removed. Photo 1 shows the drain closed and photo shows it open. If you can't live with that, you may want to try a different product.Overall, the product is as described and works well. Installation is not difficult but you need to do it correctly. Finally, you have determine if you can live with the top sitting so high. It does not interfere with the water flow or cause any splashing. I'm really ok with it considering the relatively low cost and less than difficult installation process.I hope this is helpful.

This appears to be a stainless steel drain. The construction immediately caught my eye. Traditionally made out of chromed brass and in 2 pieces, this one is made from a single piece of metal. The upper part fits the opening in the sink. The lower part is smaller in diameter at 1 -1/4 inches to fit the homes' drain plumbing and appears to have been "drawn" or "swaged" to the smaller size from the portion fitting the sink opening. One piece is less likely to leak than 2. The gaskets supplied worked well and after removing the old drain, this new one was easily installed with no leaks. Only time will tell how well this works down the road. Should last 30 to 40 yrs. This comes with a push button stopper to allow filling the sink. At this point, I'm happy with it and a good bang for the buck.
