Just place your new larger NVME in this adapter and connect it to a USB port. Download a cloning software of your choice and follow it's instructions and transfer all your data to the new drive. Then replace the original drive with your larger nvme drive and it's done. This adapter is so easy to use for upgrading or just adding additional storage space as an external device. Small, compact and folds together for a minimal footprint.

Actually bought two of these so I could take my desktop's SSDs with me when I travel. Works perfectly for that purpose. No tool installation -- just open it up, put in the SSD and it clips securely in by itself. The built-in USB-A and USB-C connectors means never forgetting to bring the cable with you, but does limit the distance the drive can be from the host computer as the built-in cables are very short (2-3").

Needed this because my laptop took a dump on me. My son was one who recommend this to me. I was worried it wouldn't be easy to use but for a beginner, you just pop the screw out (came with one even!!), slide the hard drive into it pop the screw back in, plug it into another computer and bam! I had files I was afraid to lose but was a breeze to connect everything to my new laptop. Doesn't over heat, performance is top notch!! Value was spot on saving me the frustration of losing everything!

Ich kaufte dieses Produkt da ein anderes meine SSD nicht erkannte und mit diesen hatte ich mehr Erfolg.Das Produkt selber ist gut verarbeitet. Das einsetzen der SSD klappt problemfrei und das eingebaute Kabel ist sehr praktisch.

I recently bought a replacement M.2 SATA SSD for my new Lenovo X1 Carbon, as it came with a rather restrictive 256 GB Samsung stick. The X1 is now rocking a 2TB WD M.2 stick, so I ordered this Benfei shell and installed the Samsung M.2 into it for external storage. It's working great! There was one small hold-up in putting this into practice, but it had nothing to do with this enclosure. The issue was in order to use the Samsung for storage I needed to wipe the drive and then format it, but once the drive was clean, "Disk Management" in Windows 10 didn't recognize the drive until I figured out how to initialize it. One YouTube video later the Samsung was like brand-new and I had it formatted and it's working like a charm. Easy-peazy, and the price is great!

Cons: the case is quite difficult to open to install the drive resulting in the case bending slightly.The USB-c connector bent during first use. Now it does not fit in the USB-a connector which means you cannot slide the connectors into the case.Depending on the age of your PC, it may not identify the drive. This may be caused by the drive itself because the drive is for Gen 4 but until I received the case, I didn't recognize that the case does not utilize Gen 4. It should be backwards compatible, but I've only been able to get the case to read on an old machine. The drive, using a different case, will connect to each machine I've tried.When the drive is operating in this case, it gets hot to the touch despite me adding 2 radiator pads. The case only comes with one, but I had an extra so I added it and it helps marginally but I'd still be concerned about over heating or even a mild burn if I touched the case after the drive had been working for 30+ mins.My suggestion is to spend a little bit more and get something without an attached cable. I'd also suggest a case that is newer and engineered to shed heat much better. I would not risk putting anything on the drive installed in this case that I didn't have backed up. I don't trust it so I'll have to replace it.

I ordered this to use with an old nvme drive I was replacing for more storage in my pc.Very simple setup, open it up, place nvme drive, place thermal pad and slide it all into place, fasten a screw and voila! You have a super fast portable nvme drive. It's absolutely brilliant for the price.The addition of a combo usb a / usb c wire, that on top of being a combo easily is hidden along the side of the enclosure, is very very nice.Makes it so I can connect to any pc effortlessly.All in all a top product!

Built in cable is great. This case is nice and metallic, but a little light for my preference. However, for me the big deal was it was able to recover a WD Black 2280 SSD that my two Orico enclosures could not expose to Windows or Linux. Definitely going to keep ones of these around, not sure if it was a controller issue or what, but it's easy to swap and does the job.
