Love this can opener! Had one for 20 years it finally bit the dust . Only gripe I have I thought I was cleaning it really good when I took the old one down it was nasty and I still don’t know how to clean it with out taking it down once or twice a year . Which is what I will do. Other than that I’m happy.

This is my second one of these. The first one lasted 20+ years. I was skeptical to order because someone said theirs was noisier than the first one. Mine is very quiet. As durable as the first one. It fit right into the same position the old one did. So glad I purchased one like the first one. I still feel a little pricey, but what isn't these days. Very happy with this purchase !!

This can opener never worked. We didn’t discover that until after the 30 days, so Amazon wouldn’t accept a return. The seller said to contact Black and Decker, but they said they couldn’t help because they no longer make this model. Even though we sent in a warranty, we are out over $250.00.

Had one of these for many years. Wanted another. This one is much louder but fits under cabinet & opens cans easily. So, it’s a winner. Though it cost about 4 times our first one did.

Stopped working regularly. It doesn't stay folded up anymore. I can get it to work but my wife can't.I have never liked these but my wife does. I prefer the manual one that work every time just like the old days.

This is our third can opener of this same model (B&D EC600). I purchased this can opener to replace the second one of the same model that recently broke. The first one lasted maybe 11 to 13 years, and the second one lasted another maybe 11 to 13 years, for two can openers of this same model (B&D EC600) that lasted 25 years total between the two of them. My wife loves this can opener, so I purchased another, and even purchased a backup to replace this one when it dies in--hopefully--11 to 13 years. I must admit that it was very nice to install the new can opener in about 3 minutes, including the time to grab and put away the electric screw driver; unscrew four screws, set the old one down, pick up the new one, install four screws. I do not understand some of the comments raised by other reviewers, except to offer the suggestion that when one is done opening a can, to push up on the 'lever' on the right to release. It was the release lever that broke on our second one; perhaps that is what happened on at least one of the reviewed can openers. The five stars are due to the design of the can opener, and due to the longevity of the previous two. If my luck with this can opener changes, I will advise accordingly.

I've owned this model B&D Canopener for about 15 years. I've never had one iota of trouble with it, but the plastic has turned yellow now and the little round magnet is missing ~~ absolutely the only things wrong with it. So I found one, only one, on Amazon and ordered it today, none on eBay. I have a fishing camp in a nearby state and have had several "under the cabinet" models there and hated all of them ~~ miss spots when opening, arm with blade constantly comes off, etc. I'm excited that I could find a replacement of the B&D Spacesaver model for my home. It's been a great can opener. Hope I can find another one 15 years from now!NOTE: I received this item, listed as NEW, from seller PAKR8, not in the original B&D box, but in a Walmart Mainstays Clip-On Light box. No owners manual, warranty registration card, or installation instructions/template were included. I think this item may have been refurbished rather than new. I contacted the seller, but have received no response, about 5 days later. The can opener works fine, so far, but I would not ever buy from this seller again.
