I used this kit to upgrade my fixed back rest to a removable. I bought a backrest from a 97 locally and installed this kit to make it work.I didn't use all the hardware included. So you need to use what works best for your bike.Be aware that Harley changed frame heights with the 97 model year that's why most aftermarket kits are called out for that year only. Will work on the back rest set up on earlier model as well.

Mount bracket works as it should. Only issue I had was with the back mount point for my tour pack. The mounting point is not wide enough for your pack mount. Had to cut off the side of the plastic mount.
