They need to make the return hose longer, barely long enough and had to buy another before I was even done to make the connections nice and even. This would cost them Pennie’s.

I put this on over a year ago and it has been a nightmare. Rag joint tore in half. Tried to replace it cannot find the correct size that will slide on.1. Rag joint is DANGEROUS. Within 500 miles, it tore in half. Known issue- see other reviews.2. They use hex bolts to hold the shafts in the joint, which is a horrible design. Bolt needs to go through or mate up on a flat surface. This means you must modify it for it to be safe long term. In reference to #1 above, not that I have not made modifications to the shaft or rag joint. Its just a poor design.I would install the factory power steering or save up for rack and pinion. This seems simple, but has caused me lots of pain and long term I have no faith in the safety of this system.

I have a 1967 Mustang Coupe, with a 1980 Ford 302 engine that has serpentine belt system. It is important to note that this kit comes with a steering pump that fits a V-shaped belt system, which meant I had to find another pulley that fits mine since borgesson doesn't sell one. Please make sure you know which engine you have and which belt system it has and call borgesson to ask about the right kit while giving them your car and engine specs. It also helps to have a mechanic who knows his stuff. In my case it worked well with the above as my mechanic found me the right pulley since we didn't use the one that came in the kit.

I followed directions that I found on another website that gives step-by-step instructions on the installation. The instructions that came with it doesn't have that much detail. I installed this in a 1965 Mustang which did require me to shorten the original steering column tube by several inches. The results were great and it turns great now. The original steering was leaking really bad and getting this allowed me to get rid of the slave cylinder and all the extra hoses. This kit only use two hoses. It also requires that you install a manual steering center link.

One of the best modifications I made to my 1967 Mustang convertible. My original steering box died after 48 years of use, and I decided to replace it with the Borgeson kit after checking with some Mustang forums and reviews. Fairly easy to install, my only problem was a misplaced o-ring in the pump that caused a leaking situation. One call to Borgeson and they sent a new pump out same day. I could not be happier with the way the steering works now.

Works great. Conversion is very easy. Hoses are a bit short they "just make it". The car is really nice to drive now, even my loves it.

Works great. Conversion is very easy. Hoses are a bit short with headers. Had to make a metal shield to protect them from heat of exhaust Sure makes it nicer to drive.
