After trying to diy our own version similar to this with little success we found and bought this product. Could not be easier and made the project so simple. Love it

Within a week ALL these were replaced as they broke. WASTE OF MONEY. JUST THE CHICKENS PECKING FOR WATER BROKE THEM! BUY AMERICAN!

They fit easily on a five gallon bucket, chickens like it. Keeps the feed from falling out, also.

We were going out of town, and needed an easy way to keep our wild birds and 2 orphaned baby squirrels fed in our absence (the baby squirrels' mama was hit by a car, sadly). I decided to take a chance on this!At first, I was concerned that the peanuts (in the shell) we were including for the baby squirrels would not work - that they would clog up the gravity-fed-spout and prevent all the seed from funneling out smoothly. So I cut a tiny bit of the edges of the interior parts off to allow more flow of seed. THAT WAS A MISTAKE. It came POURING out - even with just 2-3 mm shaved off each side of the flow spout. So I used the other 2 I had not altered - and everything worked fine. Even the peanuts do make their way down and the squirrels were able to retrieve them. This thing has been a God send - because now we aren't having to fill our feeders as much! We do have opossums & raccoons, and I have not found that they are raiding the feeder or causing problems. Adult squirrels in the area have discovered it, though... but even they aren't draining it dry. Everything is working well. We have now been adopted by a mallard pair - and they are enjoying the feeder, too. LOL As for putting it together - my only complaint is that the rubber "o-rings"/sealing gaskets are pretty cheap. I plan to find ones that do a bit better as far as flexibility and contact. For the interim though - the ones included work fine. I did have a tough time getting the parts to screw together - have to really use some muscle, but slow & steady wins that race. Forcing them on won't work - you just need a lot of pressure, and slow turning of the red flange until it grips the threads properly. Be patient! They WILL eventually work. :) I wouldn't consider this high quality engineering or plastic construction - but - it's working GREAT and I do recommend this!
