Initially I got this to use around the house because it seems like I’m always measuring something. But one day my friend who works in the construction business saw it and, well, you know the rest. Long story short, he and the laser measuring device are inseparable. When he’s working, the device is tucked away in his front pocket for easy access. He’s tested the measuring capability, and it is very accurate when compared to a measuring tape. And the device is durable enough to withstand a bit of knocking around. All in all, it’s a handy tool that I’d recommend to everyone. And maybe buy two, just in case a friend “borrows” one.

As pictured this measuring device has a little bit of a learning curve. It seems to be pretty accurate, as good as or better than a standard tape measure and does well when measuring from a stationary point to a wall. I'm still working out how to get it to measure distances that involve two open points...no walls. So far, that is where this device is lacking, unless its just that I still haven't figured out the trick.

I've never had a laser measurement tool before, so I wasn't totally sure what to expect. I've also reviewed my share of really cheap gadgets, so I wasn't expecting much. However, I've been really impressed by my use of the unit so far.First off, it just looks nice. I know aesthetics aren't the first thing you look for in a tool, but the color choice and the sleek design are really appealing; much more so than "generic black box". That said, the most important thing is how it works, so I charged it up and tested it out.The manual, while well written, is not all that thorough. It covers each measurement mode, but does not provide an overview, so at first I was unsure where the reference point was, and was confused by my results. It turns out that you can choose whether or not measurements are relative to the front of the device, or the back, and the screen always has an icon showing which it's using. Once I figured that out, I found that yes, it really did measure quite accurately. With my rough testing setup (pictured above), it really did measure to +/- 1/16". I also tried some longer measurements (~15 ft), and the precision was very good - repeated measurements were all within 1/16".Of course, to get that precision, you have to be careful about how you place the tool, always making sure you're using the correct reference point (front or back). This is especially true when doing indirect measurements (where you can measure the length from A to B while standing at some third point C). This is a nice feature of the device - it basically does the Pythagorean theorem for you, but it can be a bit tricky to get right, and probably should only be used for rough estimates.It's really handy that it stores several measurements for you (up to 50!), and even nicer that the last three are displayed onscreen, so you can see them without scrolling. I do have to say that the user interface is a little confusing; once you get used to it it makes sense, but having a few more buttons would make it more straightforward. But of course, buttons add cost, so as always, it's a tradeoff.Anyway, it's a terrific little tool, so much handier than a measuring tape and much more accurate that I was expecting. Of course, there are situations where you'll need a measuring tape (if you need more than 1/8" tolerances, or have a mirrored surface, or *no* surface to bounce a laser off of). But most of the time, this handy tool will do wonderfully.

What a difference the right tools make! We are constantly measuring the inside of our new build to prepare for decorating. This device has made our lives so much easier when measuring. It is accurate, quite easy to use and the battery seems to last forever. Haven't had to charge it once since we purchased it several months ago. I will be hard pressed to use a tape measure again.

I would have given this 5 stars but the fact that they used a micro USB charging port brings it down to 3 stars for me.Micro USB should not be on anything coming out in 2023.I find that absurd.The device works fine and the measurements are accurate.It calculates measurements from the back of the unit so you can put it right up to the wall when taking measurements whereas I have seen others that calculates measurements from the front making it impossible to get full measurements up to the wall.I like that it has multiple functions and units you can choose from.I love that it has a square footage option so you don't have to do the calculation.I measure square footage often so this comes in really handy and saves me a lot of time in the long run and make my life a lot easier.I would definitely recommend it if you don't care about the archaic micro USB charging port but for me, it's 2 big thumbs down due to the archaic micro USB charging port.If it had a USB C charging port like it should, I would recommend it.

Very good product, the size is perfect for carrying around in your purse and it is note heavy, also de pouch it brings to carry is very good
