Absolutely wonderful. I love how the little tea balls unfree into hole leaves in my tea strainer. I love the smell of this tea. It has a roasted note to it, and just feels great when I sit and stare out the window at the birds and drink it.

When I brewed it as a normal oolong it was disappointing and flavorless. As another reviewer said, it was no better than restaurant tea. But I tried again with about twice as much tea and this time it tasted and smelled like what I expect from oolong. It's crazy expensive considering how much you have to use, but I have to avoid caffeine for medical reasons so this is the only oolong I can enjoy without repercussions. I don't regret buying it.

I am fairly new to Oolong tea, but a friend recommended Cushla teas. I followed the instructions for brewing and it was absolutely delicious. I could not believe how the various flavors came through. I have read that oolong tea is good for bone health since it contains calcium, magnesium and potassium. That is definitely an added benefit for me since I typically don't get enough calcium in my diet. I especially appreciate the decaf option since I like to have a cup of tea before bed. This oolong tea is my new go-to nighttime tea. I just ordered some other Cushla teas and can't wait to try them!

Every now and then I like to try new things. I enjoy tea, but I'm mostly a black tea kind of person. I like spiced, chai, and various black teas mainly. I like the dark color and robust flavors you usually get from them. Green tea is usually just a little boring for my liking. I'm not at all familiar with Oolong tea, but did a little reading and found that it was generally considered to be inbetween black and green so I thought I'd give it a shot. The package says 2 teaspoons in a mug and steep for about 2 to 4 minutes. When the leaves are dry, they are very compact and crunchy and 2 teaspoons doesn't look like much but very quickly they rehydrate and become much larger. I like stronger flavors of tea, so I ended up steeping mine for about 8 minutes to really get more flavor and get the full effect. This did end up getting quite a bit of flavor in the end, but it's just not my, ahem, cup of tea. (sorry, I had to). It's very "planty" flavored. The aroma is planty, the flavor is planty, and the aftertaste is bitter and planty. The entire time I was drinking it, I couldn't help but be reminded of canned spinach I was forced to eat as a kid. I'm sure if you enjoy this style of tea, this will be up your alley. I was impressed by the amount of flavor and scent this had, I just didn't personally care for it. I didn't notice any effects of caffeine, so their claim of being decaf seems legit.Ultimately this seems like a solid product if this type of tea is up your alley, but I won't be buying more of this style any time soon.

I recently had another decaf oolong that seemed to be a Formosa (Taiwanese) Oolong. It was great. But so is this tea. It brews to a beautiful reddish color that is striking. It is generally very difficult to find decaf oolongs but ever since I had to give up caffeine and the beloved tea aisle of my asian market, I have searched for a good one. I am super happy because I now have this mainland oolong and the other that is likely from Taiwan (very different taste profile but equally wonderful).

I enjoy oolong in the morning but sometimes I don’t want caffeine. I’ve tried a few other “decaf” oolongs. Some don’t have the flavor or aroma and some still have caffeine in them. This is the first I’ve found - loose leaf or in tea bags - that has a pleasant taste and aroma and seems to have no caffeine. I’m able to get 3 infusions out of a teaspoon at 3 minutes a steep. I use the loose leaf tea but will get some tea bags for travel. This is by far the best decaf oolong that I’ve found.

I ordered this more for the other half, as he cannot taste the difference in Chinese tea. I decided to try it to give it a more experienced view as well as his view. To me, Oolong (wulong) tea should be golden, have a certain fragrance, have soft dark leaves (but not black), and pair well with Chinese snacks and desserts. This tea really does none of that when brewed like a typical Oolong tea... so I am let down. I am not sure if it is the roasting process or the decaf process, but I remain unimpressed. The taste is better than lapsandsouchong, but not better than basic restaurant tea to me.The other half was looking for a tea that he could drink at night and which would not keep him awake. I guess on these requirements it succeeds... he is fine with the taste and he has no issue drinking it for his purpose. At 3oz for 17USD, it is not priced affordably for basic drinking with indifference... and it is too expensive for an Oolong that is not higher-end.I am rating this three stars for those whose tastes are different from mine. As always, your tastes and preferences may be the same or they may be different... so buy what is right for you...

This is a typical oolong tea with smoky notes. This is a 3 ounce package and the tea is not tea dust, which is nice. It appears to be a partial or whole leaf; I cannot tell.I brewed this with 200 degree water for 4 minutes. The tea expanded fully in the teabag. The brew is golden and clear. The resulting flavor profile is what I would call rustic--woodsy and smoky. I did not taste any nutty notes like the package says.Overall, this is a nice oolong that supposedly is decaffeinated. Since I am not affected much by a cup of caffeine, I do not notice any difference. The current price of $16.95 comes to $5.65 per ounce.
