Bright as all get out. I used it several times underwater while on my trip to Aruba last week.Its made of actual metal (!) & is pretty heavy, even before putting in the 3 C batteries (not included).There isn't a button or switch for off/on. To turn it on you need to turn the head clockwise (essentially tightening it). To shut it off you turn counterclockwise but not so much that you unscrew it completely. The handle gets very warm when holding it during use. I could even feel the heat coming off of it when holding it underwater.Be careful bc when you unscrew the top to insert batteries, the outer edge of opening is super sharp (pls see attached pic if you have time).I'm otherwise happy with the performance & construction.I hope my humble opinion helps you in some way. I bought this to add to my camping backpack. But i use it around the house all the time. Very bright!! And can reach quite a distance. Been two weeks with the same batteries and the brightness has yet to dim, great energy saver !!
