I use this auger bit every day drilling holes through power poles hanging transformers, cross arms, wires, and all types of equipment on solid yellow pine 18 in. diameter. They will eat through old staples in the poles and most other small metal pieces in the pole. Other brand I have used only last about a month or two. I don't go through this particular brand that quickly I get close to 5-6 months out of 1 bit. So worth it trust me

Bought to drill out tree stumps but it was not able to do the job. This 3/4" auger bit would jam half way down using my heavy duty 10 amp low speed corded drill. I would then have to remove the drill bit with a socket and breaker bar. I switched to my larger 1" diameter Irwin auger bit and it worked perfectly every time. The Diablo auger bit certainly looks nice with the red paint but looks don't get the job done.

(like, why else would you use it?) in 6x6 pressure treated lumber for deck foundation on sloping ground.Hint to those unfamiliar with drilling deep holes: Clear the hole often. It cuts down on wear and will save the drill.
