This is a great piano bench for my son who is learning piano. The adjustable height works well, itโs comfortable, and while the storage area is shallow, itโs perfect for the 5 learning books and folder he has. It also just looks great with his piano and feels solid.

I needed a bench that adjusts higher than normal due to recent back surgery. This bench is just right. Feels solid and seems to be decent quality. Padding is not much, but better than the hard benches I've played most of my 70 years on!

This is a beautiful and strong bench. Even when itโs extended up I didnโt feel a wobble - granted Iโm only 140 pounds but this is a solid feel for me. It does take a while to adjust/crank the height but my sister said itโs faster than most of hers. The padding isnโt leather but I wouldnโt expect it for the price. The wood is polished to a super high shine. The inside only fits a sheet of paper the long way so donโt think youโre going to have 2 stacks next to each other. The hinge is ok, not terribly sturdy. The padding is firm but comfortable. This is a great single seater bench at a good price.

This bench was very quick and easy to put together. No instructions are provided, but you really don't need any. Just put the leg on each corner, and fasten it with the washer, lock washer, and nut. A wrench is provided, but it's useless. Grab a ratchet and 17mm socket instead. The only problem I ran into was with one of the lock washers; the ends were overlapping, causing it not to squish properly. I had to spread it with a pair of pliers. Even with that detour, the bench took less than ten minutes to complete.Styling is very modern, with slightly tapered square legs and a high-gloss "piano black' finish. There's a very bright white "DONNER" logo on one side, which is a little off-putting, but that can be hidden by facing it to the piano. The top is fake leather and VERY firm. There's little padding, but it's better than some old benches I've sat on. Underneath there's a small compartment for storage, but it's very shallow at only about an inch deep. The bottom is a fairly thin plastic sheet, so don't put your weight on it! Should be perfectly fine for some music books, though. The hinge locks open, which is a nice touch. Adjustment is very smooth, although beware the mechanism (including some greased parts) is completely open on the bottom. It's really not a bad bench, and fits nicely with a Technics electric piano I'd bought a few years back which lacked its original bench. Aside from the faulty lock washer, I have no complaints.

I've yet to be disappointed with a Donner product. This adjustable black piano bench with storage arrived well-packaged and safely. It was fairly easy to assemble. Once complete, it's a sturdy and solid piece of furniture. Up until now, I'd been using a "drum throne" as a seat and placing my music and other items on a nearby bookshelf. This is a nice upgrade. I grew up playing piano using a bench not unlike this. It's nice to have that again. This is a quality option. All in all, I'm happy with this piano bench. Should my experience with it hit the wrong note in the future, the review will be updated.

I got this for my mother-in-law's home. She'd been playing piano for decades on a pretty traditional, hard wooden piano with storage. Pretty standard. She's never had an adjustable height or padded bench, and now she has both. She loves it and can't believe what she's been missing all these years. This bench was easy to put together - you just have to tighten the 4 bolts with the included wrench. All in all, we're very happy. I had recently picked up another piano bench from a different brand for my own home a few years ago, and this one feels a bit better. The button placement on the design is better so you don't feel them on your bum, and the cushioning is also better.Note that while the seat folds up to reveal storage space, I'd estimate there's only an inch or so of height to spare, good for maybe 2-3 books and a few loose sheet music pieces.Still overall, I'm quite happy with this purchase. Donner came through with a quality product at this price point!

This wouldn't look out of place next to a grand piano. It is well made and sturdy. You do have to put the legs on yourself. They come with a nut and two washers but no instructions. Supposedly you put in the bolt then put down the flat washer then the small locking washer directly against the nut. The locking washer keeps the legs from coming loose from vibration. There is a hex wrench tool to make the nuts tight after you hand tighten them. The wood is shellacked a shiny black. The seat is a matte black, textured leatherlike material that almost has the sheen of velvet. It is very firm when you sit on it, but I supposed it does ease the pressure on your butt more than a wooden bench. The synthetic material it is made from is somewhat irritating. The top opens like a box to put a few books of sheet music inside. It isn't deep but is enough for maybe four thin books or a couple of stacks of sheet music.I turned the knobs on the sides simultaneously to raise the bench from the lowest position that it comes with. It is easy enough to roll up the bench high and then roll it back down to get your perfect height. The rolling mechanism is smooth and tight. The hinge on the seat storage locks so that it will stay up while you put in or take out your music. All around, it is a well-made piece of furniture and really looks it. I hope the chemicals dissipate over time so that it feels comfortable to sit on.
