Took the play out of our steering. Removed the vast majority of the clicking in the steering wheel. There may also be another worn bushing somewhere else.

It fit, the steering wheel was center and had much less play a cheap knock off one I purchased. This does have a slight amount of play about and inch (moving the steering wheel not having an effect on steering). I'd still recommend going oem when it comes to these parts of vehicles, but this will do and is cheaper. I replaced it on a 2010 f150 5.4l, steering was starting to bind up, fixed it.

Good replacement. Great price compared to OEM. Install is moderately easy. Common wear item for Fords. First thought was power steering is going till I found a great YouTube video that explained the symptom and it ended up being the steering shaft.

This Dorman intermediate steering shaft was 4 times the price of the cheapest shat I researched. However after reading a lot of reviews I quickly decided to purchase the Dorman. Replacing the intermediate steering shaft on 2010 Expedition EL is not for those without patience. The bottom 10 mm bolt is a challenge. I used a 3/8 drive flex adapter and a 4" extension. End result is the Dorman shaft is of OEM quality. Everything lined up properly and steering wheel is perfectly centered and no play in the steering.

Perfect fit for my 2010 Expedition without any issues. Took care of the steering wheel play I had due to worn joints in the lower steering shaft. Good product and value for the price.

Worked perfectly when replacing in my 2012 Expedition EL. I had been spraying the U joints a few times over the last few months, and that just wasn't enough to keep the steering working freely. Looked around for Motorcraft OEM prices and then found the Dorman for a better price and Prime shipping.I recommend soaking the bolts and couplings with PB Blaster prior to removal (everything bound to be really rusty if you live in Northern states that like to use road salt). Like others, I tapped a hardened chisel into the gaps on the ends to spread them out a little more and ease install. Also, when turning the steering to access the bolts, I made sure that the bottom bolt pointed towards the front of the vehicle. Then, using a very long socket extension, I was able to reach the 10mm bolt head from the front, next to the lower radiator hose. There isn't enough room to do this from below. Last thing, if you have a long hardened punch (12" or so), that will help when trying to push the top link off the steering wheel and pushing the bottom link up off the Power Steering Rack and Pinion assembly. This doesn't come with the bolts, so either buy new ones or spray your old ones with PB Blaster before you remove then so you don't break the original bolts (yes, the bolt heads ARE different metric socket sizes). I reused my original bolts after cleaning them with a wire brush and applying Permatex Anti-Seize Lubricant to the bolt threads prior to re-installing them.
