I purchased this laser measure after missing my opportunity to get it from my local Costco. The sleek design and included attachments are extremely helpful for projects at home or on site. The only thing missing is the inclusion of metric measurements, since it works entirely in imperial.

Lo compre para Ecuador y acá se maneja el sistema métrico decimal, he compraron otros lasers antes y siempre son. Configurables en diferentes unidades de medición, pero este solo viene con esa opción y nada más.. así que perdí mi dinero..

One of the overall best buys I have made on amazon. Its not going to compete with some of the commercial intended products out there, but it is awesome for small projects & something you can carry around easily to use in a pinch. I am a general contractor & keep this in the cab of my truck for if I need to hop out & measure something quickly & accurately.

Don't think I would purchase this at the full listing price . It works, it's nice, has a nice textured rubber grip, the head attachments is a great idea and implemented well but I have two problems. Why oh why is the wheel limited to the same distance as the laser, I could be limitless out at least what can fit in the screen.Dremel getting cheap maybe, I've used Dremel products for around 15 years and they always came with good usable hardware like boxes, pouches, toolbox style packaging but this doesn't even get a pouch or clip.Heck even the sanding attachment kit I got on sale, that plastic box it comes in turns into a mini screw organizer. This is just wasted plastic and card packaging to throw out and left with the three pieces and nothing to store them in unless I want to fidget with box every time I use it.. Which is what I'm doing for now till I make something for it

This laser measurer is super easy to use and does exactly what you need with no fuss. Pop the included batteries in and push the single button to turn it on and you’re ready to measure! As soon as you turn the unit on the red laser beam will be projected and the display will begin updating with the distance to the red dot. The display updates constantly so there’s no need to push another button to get started. The measurement takes into account the length of the device, so you just hold the device against your starting point (such as a wall), and it will give an accurate distance measurement between the back of the unit and wherever the red dot is being projected.Once you have your measurement on the screen you can press the button again to lock in the measurement and turn the laser off. If you want to take another measurement simply press the button again to turn the laser back on. Once you have your second measurement you can lock it in as well by pressing the button and then both measurements will be displayed on the screen.A useful feature allows you to double click the button once you have both measurements on the screen and the device will multiply the two readings to give you a square footage measurement.I found that the tool even works outside in bright sunlight, although it will be harder to use in those conditions because the red dot becomes hard to see and there is no eyepiece to aim through like you would find on higher end survey equipment. It’s possible though if you need to use it in bright light. You also get two useful accessories. Each one quickly snaps onto the top of the main device where 3 metal pins and contacts allow the accessory to communicate with the main display. One accessory is a tape measure that can be used to measure circumference or other measurements which require measuring a non-straight shape. You can extend the tape measure and wrap it around an object to get a quick measurement on the screen. The other accessory has a small wheel that can be rolled across virtually any surface, multiple angles, etc. to get a measurement of the whole path. The device doesn’t come with any kind of carrying case or even a cover to protect the laser emitter and receiver lenses, but I found that you can simply leave one of the accessories snapped onto the top of the unit to act as a protective cover. This also means one less thing to keep track of since your accessory will be connected to the main device when not in use.A very nice tool that does just what you need it to do.

This measures from one stationary edge to another. So, if I want to measure a doorway, I can put it on the floor and shine the beam on the other side. But I can't hold it and measure the width of my kitchen island. It needs to hit a horizontal (or vertical if measuring up) surface. My phone is not as accurate, but I can click on one edge of my counter, then click on the other and I get a close measurement. That is not possible.Measuring like the pictures show where you hold the device and measure the wall in front of you is not accurate. I have a pretty steady hand but it is impossible to know without a level if I am measuring absolutely straight across or at a slight angle. My breathing caused enough of a shake that the measurement kept changing. It is fine for rough measurements, but not for anything that would require being accurate to more than the nearest inch. The tape works fine, but it doesn't hold. There is a 90 degree tab like on the end of a standard tape measure, but it does not stay when I pull tape out of the unit. I did use it to measure my waist. i would love to say that it was way off, but it probably worked pretty well. But so does a $3 sewing tape measurer. My third attempt at measuring my counter was with the roller. But it is pretty tough to roll in an exactly straight line. My path looked like the Dremel was flunking a sobriety test. I was off over an inch from my tape measurer because of wobbles, and that was my best effort out of three. Running off the "road" caused more measurement problems.I had really high hopes for this. I need to measure the inside of my kitchen cabinets to add some pegboard organizers and this will work fine for that. It will be easier than a tape or phone because it should go straight. But when I am needing solid dimensions, like before cutting the pegboard or any lumber, I am not confident that I am getting the exact dimension with this. Measure twice, cut once really applies with this. They advertise how it holds two dimensions. For the price, I would expect more, maybe four. All in all I am disappointed.
