Product Description

  • The condition of your crawl space has a major impact on comfort, home value and indoor air quality.

It's easy to underestimate the impact your crawl space has on your home. After all, it's not a place that's visited on a regular basis. But the truth is that the condition of your crawl space really does have far-reaching effects that can cost you money while also compromising the value and safety of your home. Many of these issues have to do with crawl space ventilation.

The traditional crawl space has openings or vents in crawl space walls that allow outside air to circulate below your living space. In the summer, moist air gathers at the crawl space and condenses on cooler crawl space surfaces. This steady dose of moisture causes to grow and wood to rot. Wet wood also attracts like termites and carpenter ants whose colonies cause additional wood damage. At all times of year, indoor air pollution can cause illnesses because of airborne spores that enter the living space through cracks and gaps in the crawl space floor.

That's why we need a built-in de-humidistat crawl space foundation fan ventilator to turn on/off automatically when humidity raises.

  • Main Benefits:

1. Reduces moisture in crawl spaces / foundation to protect home and occupants.

2. Increases air circulation to prevent condensation and wood rot.

3. Exhausts vent radon gas, treated wood gases and odors, prevents migrating into living areas.

Features of Durablow Crawl Space Ventilators

Stainless Steel Crawl Space Ventilator M2D

Real Stainless Steel 304 (or 430 at your option)

Components: Stainless Steel T304 has a minimum of 10 percent chromium, 8 percent nickel, a maximum of 0.8 percent carbon, and more than 50 percent iron. The exact proportions of these and other trace elements depend on the specific uses planned for end product.

Rust Resistant: An important characteristic of T304 that makes it suitable for damp place use is that it is corrosion-resistant. Chromium binds oxygen on the surface and protects the iron component from oxidation (rust).

Long Lasting: The first use of T304 was in brewing and milk production but it was adopted rapidly throughout the food processing and building industry. T304 products will last several human lifetimes when properly maintained.

Components: Stainless Steel T430 is a downgrade of T304, but it's still much better then galvanized zinc steel which will begin to rust if any surface damages and cut edges.

Calculating the crawl space

Calculate Your Crawl Space.

For crawl space, we suggest 6 ACHs (Room Size x 6). Durablow dual fans models have 220 CFM (cubic feet per minute).

ACH (ac/h): Air changes per hour, or air change rate, is a measure of the air volume added or removed from a space (normally a room or house) divided by the volume of the space.

Room Size: Room Inner Space (Length x Width x Height)

For more information, please see larger images in listing.

Durablow Crawl Space Ventilator noise level dB

Low Noise dB Level.

For example of dual fans models, the noise level is 50-61 dB.

EVA shock absorption pads are also included for installation to minimize the noise.

People will NOT noticed the ventilation operation in house if installing properly.

I'm on here because we need to buy another one to replace the one almost 5 years ago to the date. Not the longevity quality is there.

Bought this item to ventilate a crawl space that housed our water softener and pressure tank. Provides good airflow, but speed can not be adjusted. It is either on or off based on humidity. While on, the fans are VERY loud. Returned item, there are much quieter ventilation fans available. Pay close attention to the dBa ratings.

We got it for radon remediation. Overall it works well and pulls out a lot more air than I thought. It is a bit loud, but if your heater furnace or A/C kicks on, those are much louder. It’s a constant hum “white noise.” I had to run electricity to the crawl space so I put an outdoor lamp timer and a GFCI circuit for it in the garage. That way I won’t have to go into my 12” high crawl space to control it (I hate going in my crawl space!!), and it’s on a timer so it’s only on from 9am to 9pm so it won’t disturb our sleep. I tried to mount it from the outside, but the guts plus ac cord didn’t fit in my opening. It’s more protected from the elements and probably cuts down on noise inside the crawl space, so it’s probably better to install it in your crawl space.

Unit is typical of several other brands available that all appear to be pretty much the same. Unit works well, relatively quiet, good airflow. No complaints, unit as advertised, a little less expensive than other similar appearing units.

This fan works. It helped to dry out my crawlspace and to restore my peace of mind. And it wasn't hard to install. I screwed it into a venthole, sealed it with duct tape and plugged it into an available outlet off my deck. I got lucky with that crawlspace for once and found something that has a noticeable effect. It's pretty dry under there these days!

I place it in place of a vent, between studs, was able to widen the opening beacause it was out of plywood.the purpose was venting radon and moisture out of basement. Little mwork horse was slow but successful in addition to a dehumidifier.Basement/crawlspace was about 20feet by 60 and height average 4 feet.Radon level went down 0.10 per day and is now well below accepted level.good quality item i would recommend.Only con was the noise but i didn,t use rubber washers between screw heads and fan housing.

Used product for venting a 4ft crawl space. Just trying one at this time to see how it works and will add one more if all goes well. Install on 9/12/18 so far like the unit it works great as I can fell the air movement so it does draw the air out. Right now just playing with it and doing cross venting in different areas to see how it all works to get my best draw from.

These were to replace their smaller model which were damaged by an electrical issue not related to the fans. The previous ones worked flawlessly for years. These are well mad and I expect the same. There is a certain amount of noise, more of a hum which can be heard in the room above them. They seem to be extremely well made.
