Installed with ease. Has doubled our charging capacity for our Mach-E over the stock charger. Charging at 8.7kW which is a little lower than expected but still ok. The app doesn’t work. But I don’t really need it as the car has all the controls I need. For $300 this was a great deal. Wouldn’t pay more for it though.

Some thing to know off the bat:1) very well built.2) comes with plug installed for a 14-50 socket. This will get you 40A charging from a 50A circuit. This is normal for all 14-50 plugs. You will only get 48 amps when hard wiring the device. Have an electrician do this if you want the faster charge but most people will never need 48A3) I do not know why people say the app is clunky. I had zero issue installing it, connecting to WIFI and controlling the charger through my phone. Inset it up to do charging between 1am and 6am. The setup does not require the RFID card. You can also set up three other charging modes. And a mode where you just plug and charge without the card if your charger resides in a secure location.4) if you can operate an electric drill you can install this if you are going with the plug. I had it installed in 5 minutes and set up with the app and wife in an additional 5 minutes.Other thoughts. The app does have a records section for you to see how much kW hrs you pulled so you can understand exactly how much you are paying for electricity.The device looks clean and modern.There is plenty of length on the charging cable.In bought this with an Amazon coupon when it was on sale and got it for under 300.00. For that price and the features you get, it was a steal.

App is super clunky. I purchased this for the 48 amp power but it will only let you run at 40 max plugged in. It’s a system cap, not my setup. 48 amps only available if you hard wire.

Difficult to load WiFi, have to use app to plug and charge. Not sure I like having to use card to activate charging. Nice heavy duty cable, lots of cord length.

I got this not so much for the security of the RFID card or even the app as much as for its ability to be installed outside. We have been on a waiting list for our electrician for months now because I told him this wasn't a necessity, and they are very backed up. I have been done carpentry and construction projects both as a job and on my own for over forty years now and I have to say that unless you really know what you are doing, I would strongly suggest that you get a certified electrician to do this install. The charger works amazingly well for our Toyota Prius and being able to charge it outside adds flexibility for those times when the garage is in use - which is quite often during the summer. So far, we have had no issues with it which is good because when it comes to pairing a third-party product with a brand name product you can't help but be skeptical and when that product is an expensive vehicle that concern becomes very real. Well, I can tell you that there have been no concerning aspects at all and it's done its job just fine. We did install the app and while we have played around with it some, we really don't need it either but it's nice to have just in case. It is kind of cool to go into the app and see the charging rate and other specs so if you are into that sort of thing, I think that having the app will be a great added feature for you. We had a drought for two months and wouldn't you know it, as soon as we get it installed it starts raining and snowing almost daily so we have been able to test it in wet conditions. I see no problem with it handling the elements, again as long as its installed correctly. The one big teste left will be the bitter winter cold and if that brings up issues or if any other problems come up with repeated use, I will be sure to come back and update the review. As of right now I have no problem recommending this charger to anyone looking for a great outdoor and secure unit.
