About this item

  • The cruise control switch is the electrical switch that is used to control the various functions of the cruise control system. All advertisements said that this fit Ford Ranger, and others, plus Mazda B3000 but not B2300. Amazon garage said, "Does not fit your vehicle!" Even texted some sellers to ask,"Does this fit 'B2300'? All said 'No'. Some only B3000. Looked up part# for B2300 and B3000, and it was same part! So ordered. Fit perfect and harness exact match. For you that don't know, Ranger and B2300 are basically the same truck and made by same company. Just sold under different name.F87A-9D809-BA part # on original control.

I liked that it fixed the cruise control problem on my Ranger truck. I just used the switches because my cable looked ok.

These cruise control buttons were exactly what I needed for my Ford Ranger. As pictured, the old ones were in terrible condition and the cruise control no longer worked. Installing the new buttons fixed that problem. They work perfect. Installation is average. It is recommended to remove the steering wheel completely but I was able to fish the wiring into the stock location with it on. Totally worth the money.

+It works (initial install and test drive, for the long term, time will tell)+"Fit" into the wheel was good to very good, everything matched, wiring harness pins matched+Price is far less than OEM (If you can find one now)+The actual button portions do 'disconnect' from the harness so you can disconnect and then swap buttons without dealing with trying to get the harness disconnected and re-routed+I'm now on my 2nd replacement, but I'm thinking the 'font' isn't exactly the same. The printed ON, OFF, etc is definitely printed in different locations on the buttons, but this is only noticed by having the two sets of buttons side by side, no way that or the font would be noticeable to the 'casual eye'.+I'm going to say easy to install, but if you've never done it, perhaps watch a video online just to know what you're heading into. Don't forget to disconnect battery as you have to remove air bag from steering wheel.-The plastic covering of the button (that your finger makes contact with) is FAR thinner 'feeling' than the OEM buttons and the replacement set I used. I'm not sure how long they'll hold up. They feel more 'plasticky' and less 'rubbery'. They just feel so thin that you can feel the mechanical portion beneath the buttons.-Not totally different than the "-" immediately above. You can feel the 'probe/button/whatever is under the button cover that actually activates the switches'. I think you will need to put finger directly on top of the 'On' and 'Off' printing as if you are slightly below that, the button cover pushes in with a) no action and b) you feel like if you do that enough times, it is going to quickly split the coverConclusion:-IF I had to do it over again, I'd try another brand just to see if it had any better button cover on it-There is certainly a possibility that regardless of the 'brand' (other than OEM), you're going to be getting a part from the exact same production line. Don't know on that one+It was priced low enough that if it doesn't hold up, I'll just try to get another brand and see if any difference.+At this PRICE POINT, the buttons activate the cruise system, so I'm going to say it is worth the price.-I'd easily pay 2-3X this price to get a button that feels more resilient.NOTE: This selling site says I bought this same product in 2018, so based on that, I'd say the last replacement lasted about 5 years. It was being replaced because the plastic/rubber covering split on the 'ON' button, which caused an eyesore as well as a big 'light' coming through the split at night.

Trying to find oem replacement for the 97 ranger, you find one for $400+ on ebay. Dumb. No contest here, this is it. Wire harnes in mine was also shot so I used the one it came with. You dont need to take it all apart to thread it through, i decided to thread the wire underneath as you might see in the photo instead of above like it was done stock.
