this created a fine dusting of flour to keep my freshly cut pasta from sticking together. Make certain you do this over a tray or sink to avoid a counter covered with flour. I understand it would do an equally good job with confectioner's sugar, but I will not be using it for that.The only problem that dropped it down to one star was that one wire from the screen at the bottom jutted out below the bottom edge.

This is a small and very lightweight flour sifter. I can see this losing its round shape from the hitting motion you do when sifting flour. Not to mention because of its size it will take longer to sift 3 cups of flour.

I give this sifter about 3.7 starsThe packaging leaves a LOT to be desiredThis lightweight steel sifter was in a plain plastic bag taped and then stuck in an amazon bag.The first one arrived completely deformed/crushedI ordered a replacement and that was packed the same way but arrived in ok condition.I got this to sift flour manually because for some reason I have horrible luck with those flour sifters with the hand pull and wand at the bottom....they clog upHopefully this one will be easier to just tap and siftIt's got a pretty small (6" x about 2-3" tall) footprintPretty cheaply made but will hopefully hold up to some tapping and sifting duties for bakingFor the price it's ok but it needs better packaging.
