A little snug when first fitting it to the lens, but seems to be OK now. No visible difference between this and the original lens hood.

This lens hood couldn't be better for the value! I purchased this to replace a broken Nikkor Hood. It actually fits more snuggly and feels more durable than the original. If i ever need another, i'll be purchasing this one again.

1) Difficult to install on the lens2) Doesn't lock when in the lens. So some times it turnes and it is seen in the pix.2) Install it reverse on the lens to store the camera is a nightmareI ordered this device because I forgot the genuise one at home during my vacation. It saved my for a bit! But back home, I trashed it :-(

After a few months, it doesn't satisfyingly click into place. And when you put it on backwards it doesn't stay in place really well. Overall, does it's job well.

Fits my 17-55mm f2.8 lens perfectly. I really like the lock that prevents the hood to accidentally come off the lens. Great value and quality for the price

I've never had the original hood for my lens as I purchased it used, but this was an economic alternative to the nikon hood. The hood does seem awkward for me to put on compared to other hoods and lenses I own, but once mounted, it is secure and does it's job.For me the biggest trouble is storing it by reversing it and locking it on the lens. For some reason, it always takes multiple attempts for me before I can get it secure.

Moitié moins cher que l'original, il remplit son rôle.Si on est pointilleux, on notera le toucher particulièrement plastique qui rend l'objet plus souple et peut-être plus déformable... ainsi que le système de loquet de blocage, lui aussi tout en plastique alors qu'il est en métal sur l'original. Fiabilité dans le temps à voir...

My original Nikon HB-31 hood snapped. I never understood how Nikon would charge nearly $30+ for a piece of plastic. Therefore, I decided to get this (which is 1/3 the price). It's a tight fit, but also, it's very snug and sturdy. It actually protected my beloved 17-55mm Nikkor better than the original hood did. With the original Nikon hood, it would always seem to unlock and fall off. For less than $10, it's worth buying.

très bon article en remplacement de l'original qui était très abimé et plus lourd. celui-ci tient bien en position replié. il est facile à adapter. un seul reproche, le petit cran en position déplié ne s'enclenche pas bien, cependant, le pare-soleil reste bien en place.

Got this hood for $5 comparing to native Nikon for $25. It came in nicely packaged, and looked fine. However, while installed on the lens it has some diffculty rotating all the way into locked position, and the quality of plastic work is .. not the best. So I'm bying Nikon's original hood now. I guess you can't beat the price alone, but price/quality - easily.
