I have spent the last year looking at 2 guitar boat style cases. I was all set to buy the Enki case when Gator released the Minivault. As I live in Canada, the selection is minimal for this type of product. Add to that the cost and it had me looking south of the border to make my purchase. The main feature that sold me on the Gator was the larger opening when using it on stage. I have heard the Enki can be a bit harder to take your guitar out of. In this respect, the Gator is awesome. I can leave 2 guitars with straps on and easily pull either one while playing gigs. The latching system works well. It's easy to roll and has ample foam to protect my guitars. Now, I've had the case for just over a month. 2 gigs and 2 practices completed. Upon returning home from the last practice, I noticed something loose under my thumb. I look at the handle and it is cracked from top to halfway through the back "cup" area. I take very good care of my possessions and no one has touched this case but me. The only thing I can think is the handle has flexed enough to crack it under the weight of my 2 guitars. Unacceptable. I'm not hauling 1974 Les Paul Customs in here. My guitars are actually quite light. I now have an email into Gator Customer Support and am in the process of figuring out what to do. I shall update once I hear back. Let's see if the company stands behind it's product.*UPDATE* After a bit of a run around, I was able to contact the right people at Gator. They took my proof of purchase and pics of the damage and immediately shipped me out a new case. I am very impressed with the support and I suggest you phone if you need to contact Gator for warranty issues.

Returned it. I wouldn't even put a Chibson in this joke. Cheap is an understatement. Check it on an airline? Not a chance. If you want something to hold a guitar in your practice room that looks like it's supposed to be "professional", go for it. Just don't take it out of the house with guitars still in it.

Coming in at under 24lbs "dry weight" this is lighter than the Enki cases and comes more recommend from reviewer, guitarist and video personalities as well. There are several great reviews on Youtube that are easy to find and I'd recommend the "Riffs, Beards and Gear" review that is about a year or two old from this post. My biggest complaint is that the magnets have to be lined up perfectly otherwise the removable face place will slide off when put in the support position. It rolls better than my luggage and honestly feels just slightly heavier than carrying to hard cases with guitars in them when I have to pick it up. The one thing I added to this case was a little more foam padding for above the headstocks. Not too much so that it didn't crowd the guitars, but enough to make me feel a bit more safe when it goes to the bag tossers.

Great sturdy , TSA strong, solid holding my two best guitars. Wheels are a bonus to easily move around. Surprisingly, not very heavy...A++

At 41 pounds dry weight, adding two guitars push the weight over 50 pounds. The airlines will add charges to your flight ticket, making the cost of the case more than necessary.

I just received my mini vault and used it at our gig last night. It’s everything I thought it would be. Gator products are always excellent and this one is no exception. We played on a small stage and the footprint on the product was perfect. The guitars stayed stable and transported well. Highly recommend!
