It’s all fun and games until the tent pole breaks! This would have repaired my tent pole but my poles were a weird size. No need to replace poles with this simple and effective fix.

This says it supports up to 16mm (but not including 16mm) poles and it does not. I ordered this for my Kelty which has 14mm poles so this should have easily worked, however it was too small. When I measure the interior diameter of the splint with my calipers it is about 13.75 mm. There is no way this could work on 14mm or 15mm tent poles.

Was able to fix my ridge pole without having to send it back to the manufacturer. Saved quite a bit of money.

I threw one of these in with my camping gear, (just in case!) and ended up giving it to the buddy we were with after their pole split. Worked perfectly! It was a pretty severe split. We just slid this over it and duct taped it in place. Saved their trip!

I was quoted over twenty five dollars + shipping both ways to repair one section of a large broken aluminum tent pole. This option saved me a lot of money and was easy to fix. Since there are only two size options the ID might be slightly larger than the OD of your tent pole as it was in my case. I fixed that by inserting to zip ties into each side of the splice. That held every thing firmly with no wobble or flex. To seal everything up and make it watertight I used a length of shrink tubing on each end of the splice.

I have an older REI half dome that was unusable because of broken pole. I ordered this slide it in place and used just a little duck tape to ensure it didn’t slide. Worked perfect completed a 38 mile 2 night section hike on AT with no issues.

Good quality metal piece, saved me the trouble of buying new tent poles (if I could find the right size). Taped one into place on the tent and tossed a back-up into my tent bag in case something goes wrong in future. Well worth the money.

The diameter of my tent rod is 1/2 inch at the widest and I got the 5/8 inch and it worked perfectly and snugly and my tent held strong. only thing it was almost too snug when I put it on and hard to adjust once I got it on, but I secured it with duct tape (just in case) and when tent take-down time came I knew it would be hard for me to remove, so when I packed up the tent I just left that one rod to stick out of the bag. But no regrets!! it is cheaper then buying new tent rods, not complicated like those broken rod kits with rope, and a super quick remedy for a broken rod - just what I needed. My tent is old and I dont want to pay for a new one now.
