This part was much less expensive that the local parts houses. It was a direct fit that didn't require cutting and crimping connectors. I highly recommend this over the universal parts.

Our refrigerator was not holding temperature. We tried replacing some of less expensive components and hoped that they would fix it, but ultimately it was the thermostat that fixed the problem. The part was reasonably easy to replace, except for moving the fridge, of course. If you are the kind of person to fix your own things, you can likely do it. I love my abnormally sized counter-depth fridge. It's served us well now for 10 years, I would have hated to have to find another one to fit in the space. Fixing it was definitely the way to go.

Unfortunately my freezing Frigidaire refrigerator was not fixed with this item. I ended up needing a thermistor to fix it.

My refrigerator kept icing up and the fan would stop. I could thaw everything out and it would run again but that fix lasted only a few days. With help from online do it yourself sites, I decided to replace the thermostat first, as it was the least expensive of suspected parts o replace. As it turned out, I also needed a timer, but these parts are inexpensive and arrive within a few days from ordering. I saved myself maybe $1,000 by not having to replace the refrigerator and it works fine now.
