I wanted to put a rail on my 870, 20 gauge. I finally found this on Amazon. It has shims so this will fit the smaller 20 gauge receiver (it is designed for a 12 gauge). With the shims it fits the 20 gauge perfectly.Just tap out the 2 pins holding in the trigger group, put the scope saddle on top of the receiver, once things line up, tap the screws through the trigger group, and used the provided allen key to turn them home.

Used this to mount my scope for deer hunting last year. Worked well, scope held zero. Shot several boxes of 12g slugs through the gun at the range, so far so good!Easy to install, just pop your old pins out with a punch and pop the new ones back in.

Slightly a hassle to get the insert bars lined up then the pins put through and screwed into the other side as well but once on you shouldn't need to remove it and you can still use your original bead or iron front sight by looking under when a optic is mounted or if bird hunting or clay shooting and your optic isn't working you can actually aim down the rail to an extent. I've only taken this out once and ran 100 cheap ass field loads but nothing came loose and I haven't even used thr blue loctite and probably won't unless someone advises me and convinces me it's needed. This thing is also super light and seems pretty durable as well doesn't feel cheap feels just eight for the price.

I purchased a Hammer scope mount for a 1100 Remington. The Picatinny rail saddle looks sturdy and the mount looks solid, but the one star is for the screws and allen wrench. I made sure that the Vortex SPARC scope fit the rail. Then I put the scope mount in place. I use the provided allen wrench and screwed the scope mount in place. suddenly the allan wrench gave and it appeared that the screw head stripped. I tried to back out the screw but it also slipped. I concluded the screw head was stripped. I photoed the screw heads and it looked worn but still had a hex shape to it. So I mic the provided allen wrench and compared it a Craftsman hex. The provided wrench was 0.002 inches smaller than my hex wrench. The Craftsman hex wrench was able to back out and in the screws. THE MADE IN CHINA's product screws did not appear to be tempered and the hex wrench was 0.002 inches smaller than the Craftsman's hex.. I would not purchase this again.

This mount is much sturdier and far better constructed than the more common, and cheaper Weaver plastic mount. I bought one of these for my 12 gauge and my daughter's 20 gauge. It was super easy to put on my 12 gauge- knock out the pins and put the mount in place and push the new pins through, and tighten them. A bit trickier for the 20 gauge because you have to use the provided spacers- can be a little difficult lining everyting up correctly. Once you do however, it's perfect. Spend the little extra and get this mount for either the 12 or 20 gauge.

While some reviews say the screws do not align, I think patience is key. I had no problem installing this device on my Remington 870 Express 21' barrel 20ga shotgun. It was a very easy to install. Very light weight and sturdy. Highly recommended.
