The overflow hole on our sink is at the front not at the back under the faucet which I guess is more common. So toothpaste and water drips get in there and over the years slowly build up to foul the overflow (odor). When that happens it's very difficult to thoroughly clean the overflow as it is channel moulded into the sink not a separate tube or pipe that can be removed. Solution is this product to stop drips and spray getting in there in the first place.
