This is a really nice grate, which hollow core should enable it to withstand heat that eventually wilts iron grates. Assembly is easy, and it has a large surface once constructed. Time will tell how well it lasts, but after one winter and numerous roaring fires, it still looks new. I consider it a good value for the price.

Unfortunately, the item was not pacakaged well and arrived with one leg broken off and not in the package. I am hoping they will send a leg to weld on. Also, some of the other welds look a bit light, so I will probably add some bracing. I have a very large outdoor fire pit on a farm, so with a few tweaks, this should work well. It's probably great for home backyard use.

I purchased this grate to replace the one that came with our copper free standing fire pit. The original grate could not stand up to the heat of our typical fires and literally disintegrated after 3 years of seasonal use. This replacement grate is much more substantial and slightly larger than the original one, but it fits well and is clearly superior in every way to the one I have replaced.
