Basically unusable on hardwood. Will not cut a clean hole and when it grabs will just about take your arm off.

You need big holes drilled? This is the beast for you. Make sure you have a drill with a clutch or you could do yourself a mischief.

This is a Big, 2" wood auger bit with a 12" length. I needed this bit to drill through the wooden sills of a 170 year old house. It did a perfect jib, but it will require a horse of a drill to drive it. Don't get in a hurry and it will work well.

Wish I could give zero stars. This drill bit would not drill one hole. So dull it could not even start the hole. I wish I would have tried out sooner, because I waited to long to use and was unable to return.

Have not used it yet, but tried it on a railroad tie, looks like it will do the job, so really will be impressed if works for the whole project. Kind of leery of the 7/16" shank, so just have to be mindful and careful. Thanks for the interest. God Bless

After a disappointment that the bit was damaged upon shipment, (the tip of the bit was broken) I easily returned the bit using UPS pickup and I had a new bit in my hands 2 days later. I used the bit for 2" mortises on my timber framing project and I couldn't be happier. It drilled through hemlock easily while I did my part holding on to the drill.

Worked amazingly well! Used for railroad ties with 1/2” driver. Drilled 40+ holes 12” deep and still cuts like new.
