Installed on my 2018 Silverado 5.3, I don’t drive this pickup much so I only had to empty the catch can maybe once a month during the summer, but now that’s it’s cold out and the pickup idles some I clean it about twice a month.

This was easy to install. Watch the video here (top of page) and it's pretty simple. After about 5 weeks, this device captured about half the holding capacity. That oil would have gone into the air intake and onto the valve stems where it would've been burned and left carbon deposits. Instead, the oil gets recycled. Just one thing GM should've added to their vehicles. This is installed on a 2018 Sierra 6.2L (L86) engine.

Catches a surprising amount or oil. There is a link to a video on how to install. Recommend installing while engine is cold. Should take less than 20 mins if you have the tools ready.

Great quality and easy install. Fits perfectly. Performs great and I now have them in my trucks as well. I just ordered the can extension so I don’t have to check it as often. It’s a must have for these direct injection engines in my opinion.

I used a cheaper cath can on my last truck which was a 2015 Silverado. I got a 2017 GMC and installed this right away. The directions were easy to follow and it's working as advertised. I would definatly get this over a cheap can you'll really undestand if you made the mistake I did because not only was the cheap one hard to install it wasn't getting anything in it. This is the exact oppisite I think it was about a 15 minute job and I have to enmpty it because it works.

Yes, you can get cheaper oil catch cans if you want to build your own. There are some really nice make your own kits out there that will save you some money. However, if you're like me and you like easy, plug & play stuff, J&L is the only way to go. OE style connectors, detailed install videos, most of their cans can be installed in 10 to 15 minutes tops, what's not to love? Plus the added benefit of having your OE PCV hose around just in case. After watching their video of how much oil the Jeep 3.6 pukes out I need one for my Gladiator now. I'll order it this weekend.

Overall, this catch can is great. The price is reasonable and the build quality is excellent. The threading on the can is very good and it operates smoothly. With the mounting bracket placement, it is easy to access the can to empty it out. The installation was super easy and the included instructions are easy to follow. I installed this into a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ Z71, and so far it's been great. I did take a peek to see if it is catching any oil, and it is!
