Quick delivery! This is my 5th KastKing reel. They are an affordable high quality brand. If you haven’t tried them out, what are you waiting for?The Kapstan 2500 has a great gear ratio and is waterproof. I plan to use this with a saltwater setup. The spool is ready for braided line as well. You have the ability to switch the handle over to retrieve on either side (right or left handed). It has a t-handle which makes reeling it in easier. The drag on this is impressive as well. You should be able to fight some big ones. It’s a clean reel with a great design and color. Looking forward to breaking this on in!

I've been a long-time KastKing customer. The quality of their products is excellent for the price. This reel performs extremely well. It is lightweight and easy to cast and reel in, and it's more than capable of handling larger fish thanks to its solid construction and 30 lb drag. Casting and reeling are buttery smooth. I believe this is my new favorite reel for saltwater fishing. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one.

I think for the money this is a quality reel. I compared this with a Penn Slammer 6000, I bought the 5000 Kast King. The Kast king is heavier and very sturdy compared to the Penn. But I think the Kast King is not as fluid while retrieving, it feels a bit sluggish but it might break in a bit more I would imagine. But this at the price point, that King has, it is excellent and the reel is worth it I cant wait to use it more.

I recently picked up the KastKing Kapstan SE saltwater spinning reel, and after a few trips, I'm genuinely impressed. As a budget-conscious angler who still demands reliability, this reel has delivered.First off, the build quality is surprisingly robust for the price. The reel feels solid in hand, and the IPX6 waterproof rating gives me confidence when fishing in rough conditions. The drag system is smooth and powerful, handling some decent-sized fish with ease. I haven't had any issues with slippage or inconsistencies, which is crucial when battling strong saltwater species. The Kapstan SE's retrieve is also smooth, and the line lay is even. I appreciate the attention to detail, especially considering the price point. It's clear that KastKing has put effort into designing a reel that can withstand the rigors of saltwater fishing.A couple of minor things to note: It's a bit on the heavier side, which might be a consideration for some anglers, especially during long fishing sessions. Also, while the finish looks durable, only time will tell how it holds up to prolonged exposure to saltwater.Overall, I'm very happy with the KastKing Kapstan SE. It's a solid performer that offers excellent value for the money. If you're looking for a reliable saltwater spinning reel without breaking the bank, this one is definitely worth considering.Pros:* Excellent value for the price* Robust build quality* Smooth and powerful drag system* IPX6 waterproof rating* Smooth retrieve and even line layCons:* Slightly heavier than some other reels* Long-term durability of finish is yet to be determinedHighly recommend for anglers looking for a budget friendly saltwater reel.

I’ve been through a lot of reels, but this one is hands down the best I’ve used in saltwater. Most reels start giving out after a while, but this one just keeps going, no matter how long I’m out there. The bail action is super smooth but still has that solid, firm feel, which I love. If you’re looking for a reel that actually holds up—whether you’re just getting into fishing or have been at it for years—I’d definitely recommend this one.

This reel is amazing hands down a steal for this price. A+.I’m an avid fishermen. Love to be out here with the kids living it up. We have all kinds of rods and reels. A few KastKing as well. This was my second salt water reel purchase and I’m at awe in the quality of this reel. I have a similar reel, Shimano, with comparable components it was a lot more money than this one. The feel a drag are better and the drag has a really nice clicking sweet sound that is louder than my shimano. If you are reading this is because you are looking to pull the plug.Do it! It’s my favorite reel (3000) and lots of power for its size!By the way, the (SE) stands for Standard Edition. I called the company and they were very helpful with finding the right reel for me.Now I’m looking at the new 5000 Kapstan Elite salt water reel as my next purchase.Hey KastKing,Please send me a reel to review… love, love your products!

I took a chance on this "off-brand" reel because of its brass gears, carbon fiber drag washers, aluminum body, one-piece bail, and its internal seals which are meant to keep water out. I bought the 2500 size to use for redfish and speckled trout on the Texas coast. The reel arrived in perfect condition in a very nice box and is a beautiful piece of machinery. I immediately noticed that it is quite a bit heavier and a little larger than my Lew's Inshore 3000 reels. I loaded it with 30# Windtamer braided line, put it on a new 7' Falcon Coastal XG rod, and hit the water.Due to its weight, it feels a bit out of balance on the rod, and all that weight also makes it less sensitive than a lightweight combo. I would NOT want to lug this heavy thing around all day wade fishing with light lures. But on this first run I was fishing from the boat with live shrimp under a popping cork where light weight and sensitivity are not as important. The reel casts beautifully. The anti-reverse is solid with no slack, which made for solid hookups on fish. The drag was smooth as silk. The 55# max drag resistance is way more than you'll ever need for a reel this size, but whatever.I only give it 4 stars because the 2500 is bigger than it should be and is larger than I prefer, and the weight of it makes the rod/reel combo feel unbalanced. But overall it is a good reel for the money in my opinion.
