I'm not sure how much I'll use these yet but they make a Crescent wrench look stupid, as far as on and off the fastener operation. I've always hated adjustable wrenches, even my nice Milwaukee that works very well. Before you buy: Understand that these are not designed for use simply by pushing on the back handle. I've seen the reviews that do that and compare them to an adjustable wrench but, frankly, that's just ignorant. These are designed to squeeze the handles. If you do that, they hang on like a snapping turtle. I'm not saying they're better than a wrench. Just that they'll be great for things a crescent wrench would be used for. Time will tell but I think I'm going to like them a lot.

The fit and finish is on par with other high end tools. The jaws are parallel and the handles are very rigid. Copycat designs fall short in every aspect. Modern, superior replacement for crescent style adjustable wrenches.

Knipex combined their Cobra pliers technology with adjustability of Crescent wrench to create this wonderful wrench pliers. Very easy to adjust and many increments available. It also different from a standard Crescent wrench that after you adjusted the opening the jaws you can still squeeze the handles close for additional pressure on the jaws to close onto the work piece. This is very important because even you tighten as hard as you can on a Crescent wrench as soon as you start turning on a very tight fastener the jaws will always open a little and depends on which brand of Crescent wrench some can open enough that the corner of the fastener bites into the flat surface of the jaws and even worse the jaws might slip pass the fasteners corners. Knipex wrench pliers solved that problem by allowing additional pressure onto the jaws so the fastener has no chance to slip.
