First off, Kuat makes a solid product that is worth the cost if you do a lot of bike hauling. I got this while on vacation actually in order to take home an additional bike that a bought. Even though I may never have need for this, I know I can easily sell it online as it is a solid product that can be re-sold and will essentially be a rental cost.

My daughter is now mountain biking with my son and I. I needed to extend the rack and so I purchased the 1 bike add on. Simple install and works great. Nice that you keep the work station too.

Incorrect description. The one that was described was for two additional bicycles and it even showed a picture. The part that showed up was for one additional bicycle. But this explains why the price was so cheap. I questioned the price, but the description described that it would be an extension to add two additional bikes. I kept it only because I was short on time. As for the performance of the extension it has been working. I would have been happy if the description was correct I would’ve ordered the proper one.

We've really enjoyed our Kuat rack for the last year and our daughter finally got a bike big enough to transport. This add-on was easy to assemble and install. Took 15 minutes at the most to unpackage, assemble and attach to the rack. I found it easier to assemble the unit on the ground behind the vehicle and then attach it with the rack on car. Only tricky part was the included allen key was awkward to use for the assembly so I grabbed a 6mm bit and rachet from my tool kit.

The ball bearing mount feature works the same with the 2” adapter. The 1 1/2” mount is great if you don’t ever need to expand to carry more than 2 bikes. This rack is quick easy and secure. I trust this system with users that aren’t mechanical my inclined. And those that are will appreciate the simplicity and the quality design and build.

I got the base rack, this extension, the workstand, the HiLo (extension), and a hitch lock. It's good stuff. I wanted to get the Sherpa but my wife wanted the ability to haul friends' bikes, too. She drives a Jeep Wrangler and I have to admit that it is fun to pile into her toy car with the top and doors off and go on adventures like high school.I was concerned that this one is so heavy that she wouldn't be able to remove/install it by herself, or even operate it. It's easy enough for anyone to operate, and we just leave it on. For people with short arms and this extender installed, you will have to figure out how to stand to be able to reach the latch. My wife is 5'0" and she can raise and lower the rack and get her own e-bike onto the rack. She lifts the front tire onto and just rolls it into place.The hardware that holds the bikes is easy to use and reliable so far. We drove from Kansas City to Des Moines, IA (2.5hrs) for a weekend and the bikes didn't budge.There isn't much to say about gear like this - there are no issues. Everything works like you would expect, and it vanishes into the background.Oh, one gripe - they don't offer a lock that both holds the HiLo firmly AND is keyed the same as the rack/extension.

Quick shipping! Arrived a day earlier than promised. Very sturdy and allows to transport a variety of bikes. I finally upgraded from a Thule big horn rack and am not disappointed. Easily cradles a 29er, no issues! Worth every cent.
