This is one of my favorite fountain pens I’ve ever owned. The nibs are very easy to change. The ink is fairly inexpensive and it writes like a dream. It has a unique grip that allows for easy comfortable usage. Lamy makes many different colors of ink to suit your personality and the pen is darn near indestructible. Trust me, I’ve tried, you don’t have to.

It's a fine piece of professional stationary. It is smooth, free flowing and the cartridge is easy to install. It's also makes an amazing gifting choice.

This was my first fountain pen. I wanted it for urban sketching. I like the medium nib, but it a bit thicker than I expected. It’s fine though because it definitely is needed. I have purchased a couple other fountain pens with different nibs , but this one is the smoothest. I really like the feel of the pen in my hand. The weight is perfect. I also bought different ink along with a converter. I needed water proof ink. It was very easy to load the pen with the ink and converter.

the pen is Dark brown, not matte black as stated.Pen works the same as any Lamy, it writes very well, just disappointed on the color.

Writes very smoothly, feels very high quality, nice to hold, and doesn't bleed through normal printer paper. No complaints.

Didn't think I was going to like it. Turns out it's my favorite pen tongue now. I look for an excuse to write so I get to use it. Very nice ink flow, fits very nice, it's very light I wished it weighted more but for the price it's very good

The pen itself is great. It writes smooth, feels very durable, and the grip helps to maintain the correct writing form. This is my first fountain pen and I would recommend it to anyone just getting into writing with one. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because the “matte black” color is actually a dark brown as other reviews have mentioned.

Les Lamy Safari sont presque parfait pour leur prix, et celui-ci amène du grain sur le corps en plastique qui crée une tenue en man absolument parfaite.Si je devais choisir un seul Lamy Safari, ça serait celui-là!

The is the real Lamy pen - and it writes beautifully! I like the medium point version best...Watch out for fakes from China - they look the same, minus the LAMY logo on the barrel of the pen. And they're complete crap!

I love these pens, I have two of them, they write great and they feel great in your hand. I really like the ergonomics. My only beef with fountain pens is that they burn through ink faster than non-fountain pens, if I'm using crappy paper the ink tends to bleed through as well. but otherwise I'm a big fan of these. I tend to buy a pen and use it for way too long, so these work well for me.Update: Personally I prefer the fine nib over the medium. The medium writes more like a fine sharpie than a normal-ish pen. It's still not like huge writing, I can do cursive with it neatly, but on lesser paper it bleeds more and as you'd imagine it uses more ink. I'm not getting rid of my medium nib pen, but if you don't specifically need a larger nib I'd stick with the fine.

Very nice to write with. I am very impressed with the fountain pen.The medium nib is quite broad—I use a medium pen normally, I find the Lamy slightly more broad.I have a fine nib I will try out as well. Lamy nibs are very easy to swap out.I also bought a converter. Which is very easy to refill. The listed pen sleeve on the amazon listing did not come with my order—I contacted amazon customer support who provided me with an exceptionally balanced restitution.I have now adopted this pen as my everyday carry pen. Only using a ball point (Fisher AG7) where I know there is a chance that fountain ink is not appropriate (risk of ink run if it gets wet).I will look to get another one that I can use with a red Lamy ink for marking up work documents.

By no means am I familiar with high quality pens, nor do I pretend to be.With that being said, I work in an office setting and had been considering for quite some time that it would be beneficial to invest in a nice pen (not just the cheap pens that lie around the office that make my penmanship look like that of a school kid). One day as I was signing paperwork with one of my clients and he proceeds to pull out a cool looking pen that wrote exceptionally well. I had to ask him what kind of pen he carried with him. His response — "its a Lamy. I take it with me everywhere."Next thing you know, I'm ordering my first fountain pen off of Amazon and thus far I am very pleased with my investment. The pen is equipped with a blue ink cartridge, which is nice to have, but I immediately switched it to black. I'm not sure how long each cartridge is meant to last, so I will need to update this review with time. With that being said, I do use my pens pretty heavily, so I'm happy to have gone with the 5 black ink cartridges option.I see plenty of reviews from those with much more experience than I when it comes to pens.In case, like me, you are the layperson simply looking for a better pen — then take it from me.. buy the pen.
