Great ball winder, very high capacity! I've worked with a lot of ball winders and wound well over a thousand skeins of yarn and once I got the hang of how this one wants to work, it's easy to say that this is the best and the sturdiest manual ball winder I've worked with! I'm definitely glad that I upgraded to this!

Absolutely best yarn winder. I’ve seen in a long time. It’s got metal gears so it will truly last for years. For the cost I feel like it a perfect price if anything I feel like it’s under priced. But im truly thankful to receive great quality for this price.Just be wormed it is addictive. I found myself wanting to wind all of my yarn. It’s relaxing zero stress when putting it together it was so simple.

It's just okay but it works for the money. As others have said, it is VERY noisy. About the same amount of noises as a garbage disposal. My husband groans at me when I start winding yarn and makes his way to the man gave. It gets stuck easily. Tension regulation is your fingers which is difficult to keep tension while you keep the yarn guide from bouncing and vibrating all over the place.On the plus side, as advertised, it does hold an entire large skeen of Bernatte chunky yarnI don't plan to send it back but if I have to buy a replacement I won't buy this again.

The clamp is perfectly fine. The gears are metal. It is much quieter than the popping little plastic thing I used to use, but of course it makes noise. It was juuuust able to cake a 16oz worsted weight yarn before the closer arm was rubbing the cake, as demonstrated in one of my pictures. I love it and highly recommend.

This is a great manual yarn winder for those who have large yarn skeins. The gears are kind of noisy but I feel that's to be expected since it's nade of metal gears. Sometimes the gears can stick a little, I recommend putting a drop of oil every so often to keep them lubricated especially if you're using the product a lot. Keep in mind if you wind too fast or too tightly with certain yarn types, the cake you are winding will slide off the winder as you're winding it. So with those more fine or smoother yarns just take it nice and slow and make sure you aren't pulling too tightly! This winder is labeled for 10 oz skeins but depending on exactly what yarn you're winding, you can sometimes get it to fit 16 or even 18 oz

I was very disappointed when I recieved it. There were no directions and the large metal yarn guide was stuck in the gears. It states in the title Knit Picks but isn't anything like Knit Picks. Does not work smoothly. The gears get stuck every 2nd to 3rd turn.
