Carry this on my road bike. Definite plusses and minuses. Most importantly, on the plus side, this is the best portable pump I've used for getting my tires back to 120 psi on the road. At least for me, I didn't find the narrow handle to be an issue. I was wearing some light summer riding gloves, that probably helps. The pump feels well made and high quality. On the minus side, the biggest issue is the size. I have it mounted on the seat tube, it mostly stays out of the way there, although occasionally it slips down or rotates a bit and has to be adjusted while riding. Might try it on the down tube instead to see if that's better. I knew this would be an issue when I bought it, ultimately decided that I was willing to try it to have a better solution for getting going again after the inevitable flat. The other issue is the gauge. Honestly don't recall why I bought the electronic gauge version, not sure I'd do that again. Had a flat this weekend, and the gauge battery was dead. A lithium battery on a pump I've had less than a year and rarely used. The pump itself worked great, but no gauge. Replaced the battery and the gauge is now fine, but if the battery doesn't last even a year that would be disappointing.Net though is that this pump made it very easy to get a flat tire up to (estimated) pressure on the road, so I'm going to keep using it. If I had to buy it again, I'd probably try the version with the mechanical gauge.Edit:9 months later. Haven't had to use the pump again, but I just checked the battery. It was dead. Not used at all, and dead in 9 months. It's just the gauge so not that big a deal. I'd still buy the pump again, but I would 100% NOT get the electronic gauge version. Also, I still keep the pump on the seat tube. Once I figured out how to orient and secure it, I haven't had any issues. It tucks nicely out of the way, and stays put.Edit 2:3 months later. Took a flight with the bike, due to limited space decided to use this as the only pump. At the other end had to inflate both tires to 120 psi, and also fixed up a couple bikes at the other end and inflated four more tires to about 70 psi. The pump was great, did not regret not having a bigger pump at all. One issue I had was that after using it a lot it heated up and the pump became very hard to use, and eventually stopped working. I took it apart (just by unscrewing the top) and saw that the gasket had come off. I re-seated it, and it came off again immediately. But when I added a bit of bike grease it stayed on, and the pump worked fine. Pumping up 6 tires in a row probably a lot more use than these will typically get, but I was very impressed by how well it did. And btw the battery was still fine, so it lasts at least 3 months. I've put a spare battery in my saddle bag also. Still just 4 stars because of the battery life on the gauge, but otherwise 5 stars.

This pump is a great example of engineering done right. It is one of very few high-pressure mini pumps out there that can actually achieve the max pressure it's rated for with reasonable effort. The plunger rod is larger in diameter than most other mini pumps, rendering it more rigid and resistant to bending when bearing down on the handle with lots of force. The piston diameter is also smaller than most and the stroke length longer than most, making it easier to pump at high pressure while still moving fairly high volumes of air at lower pressures. The straight air chuck is a piece of knurled aluminium with an internal rubber O-ring that prevents air loss while threading onto your valve stem, and it is dual sided, fitting both Presta and Schrader valve stems. The air chuck is threaded and screws into the base of the pump for compact storage. There is also a minimalist plastic mounting bracket with a Velcro strap for secure storage on your bike. The pump comes with a plastic right-angle Dunlop valve air chuck attachment. It also comes with a steel sports ball inflator nozzle and a plastic pool float nozzle (the pump probably isn't the ideal tool for these larger volume, lower pressure inflatables). Here are the important measurements:Base: 2.5 cm x 5.9 cm (1.0 in x 2.3 in)Overall height: 30.7 cm (12.1 in)Piston diameter: 2.0 cm (0.8 in)Stroke length: 20.0 cm (7.9 in)Stroke volume: 62.8 cm^3 (3.8 in^3)Hose length: 60 cm (24 in)For the weight weenies out there, this pump weighs in at a scant 177 g (6.2 oz) bare, or 194 g (6.8 oz) with the included mounting bracket.

One of the best purchases I have made for my bike commute. I used to carry around a cheap Bell hand pump but after using this on the side of the road to fix a flat, I'll never go back. Pumps up a 700 x 32C tire from 0 to 90 psi in about 100-150 strokes (lost count after a while) which isn't bad at all; definitely better than the small mini hand pumps. It gets a little tough to pump (the small handle starts to dig in but at least its well rounded) once you get around 90 psi but I think I could reasonably get to 100-110 psi if I really tried. It's small and light enough to put in my backpack and thin enough that it stays out of the way that I don't even notice that it's there. The minor weight penalty versus your typical mini hand pump is worth the pumping efficiency. The aluminum construction is top notch, the gauge is pretty accurate, the bleed valve is a great feature, and the foot peg is extremely useful for getting good leverage on the pump. Again, better than the typical hand pump where you can't brace it against the ground. I got this when the price dropped on Amazon for $42.99 and it's worth every penny.
