Installed this, this past week into a LG dishwasher that had the pump going bad. It took about 2 hours total time, and most of that was because I forgot to drain the dishwasher first and had to clean up after I tipped it on its side. Overall the part came undamaged and now my dishwasher hums along silently while washing dishes better than it has in the last two years

If your washer is making a high pitch noise, it's most likely the bearing in your pump. Once i had the washer out, this was a quick install. Solved the issue for me. The pumps are warrantied for 10 years but you have to pay for labor which is expensive. If you're handy, this is the cheapest route. My advice to you is expect to replace this and the Vario motor twice in the first 5 years if you buy an LG washer.

Installed this pump/heater a few months ago when the dishwasher was making lots of noise. You tube posters claim it is a bad bearing on yhe motor. They were right. Took 5 minutes to replace. Hardest part is removing the dishwasher from under the counter. Take pics to get the orientation correct.

Original motor was leaking water from the pump shaft into the motor bearings. It caused my normally almost-silent dishwasher to be extremely noisy and sound like junk. It would only get worse over time. It's a possible electrical hazard, and would probably start dripping water on the floor eventually. This part was a direct fit and fixed the problem immediately. Dishwasher sounds like new again.I'd rate this repair to require mid to advanced homeowner / handyman skill and experience levels. Maybe not recommended if you've never fixed anything before. No exotic tools required but some of the connections might not be intuitive to beginners. I didn't check if there are any YouTube tutorials but that would be recommended if there are. I attached a couple reference photos of the part installed in case they are useful for others. The job took me about 60 minutes, start to finish.I'm happy the dishwasher is fixed but I'm concerned the pump will fail in the same way again in another 2-3 years. My theory is this dishwasher uses the water pump as an air blower during the dry cycle. It's efficient and the dishes do end up quite dry. However the dishwasher seems to cycle the blower on and off continuously until someone opens the door. Depending how soon you open it this could mean there is an unlubricated metal shaft spinning against a dirty rubber seal for hours. It's very obvious that this will wear out and start to leak quickly. That's a flawed design. Knowing this now I will make an effort to open the door as soon as possible, and I believe there are wash modes that minimize this as well.

This worked for about 6 wash cycles after installation, and was pretty quiet. Unfortunately the dishwasher is back to being noisy. I have some serious doubts about the authenticity of this part being new, and the shipping/packing was incredibly poor. Maybe it was damaged in shipping? At any rate, I am dealing with the noisy washer as we shop for a new one. Installation of this part was easy…but I question the parts “newness” or if it’s authentic.

It's been about 9-10 months and it seems to be working well. Had to replace the old one do to the bearing wearing out and started making noises. I was under warranty but labor would of cost about the same price as the new part. So decided to replace it myself. Pretty easy just look for instruction on YouTube.

Good replacement. It isn’t labeled as an LG part but fits just right and solved my problem - LE code, grinding noise, and burning smell. This replacement sounds quite just like new. Have had it installed for less than a day but a few loads in it work just fine. Also somehow it shipped 6 days faster than the estimate!

I bought the part to change the broken part in my dishwasher. And a month later the part I purchased is doing the same thing the old part did. What a scam for buying a new part
