I might of give more stars if I was not a beginner learning from square 1. This is definitely more for intermediate users than beginners. The instructions are near impossible to read, especially having to flip back and forth between two books; the video tutorials are just as confusing and jump right in to the stitch and doesn't go over how to cast on, chain ect. And the yarn is GARBAGE, it frays so bad (as seen in the picture) so it's near impossible (as a beginner knowing nothing) to try and learn the stitches without messing up because the hook only caught some of the yarn. I went thought 1/2 of a ball of the yarn just trying to figure what I'm doing and it frays worse the more you undo and redo your work.My last grievance is the colour of the yarn. The colours aren't labeled, so even if you did follow the pattern, you don't know what colour it's talking about. There's 3 light greens and two creams all slightly different colors and the instructions say "light green".Complete waste of money. I would return it if I didn't throw the box and waste most of the thread trying to figure it out.

You get four booklets with identical instructions for the different colors. It doesn't come with scissors. It comes with a 2.5 mm hook, the yarn, stitch markers, little pieces of ribbon and a plastic headed needle threader for the four plastic yarn needles. You don't get the complete instructions in the booklet, in fact, the first line tells you to make four chain stitches and then eleven double crochet to make twelve with the slip stitch as round one of the magic ring. This is hard. It is hard enough for a beginner to make the magic ring with regular stiches, but they jump right in with double crochet. I really have to hunt down the video to see how to do that.I find this very annoying. I would like to sit down with a book and have it all explained clearly. This kit introduces the popcorn stitch that I have never done. There are no descriptions in the booklets how to do any of the stitches, it is all referred to the videos. It is a bit of a puzzle to figure these kits out. This does have enough yarn to complete four different colored coasters with a bouquet of flowers for each one.The yarn in this kit splits more than in any other kit that I have tried. I have worked with four different types of yarn, and this is the fifth. After my first failed attempt at round one, I already have four unraveled threads dangling from the yarn ball. It is pretty unpleasant synthetic yarn.

If you crochet this is a very cute and easy kit to do!

I took one star because it said it was cotton but it isn’t and I’m not a beginner so I was prepared to have to figure something out but if you are a beginner then this might not be easy for you. Some of the instructions weren’t so clear and the colours are very similar so when they say “line green” there’s two that could fall under that description and you have to hope for the best since some greens are for the small coasters and some for the large ones.In the end, I got it to work and it looked nice but I did make a mistake with the first one since it didn’t specify that on the first row of the colour change you have to work the stitches into the same stitch and I only realized this when I reached the end of the round and it was curling like a bowl. I only had 10 repeats instead of 12.

Working through the coaster designs was incredibly satisfying. The succulent themes are just too cute and make for an adorable addition to any room or as a unique gift for friends and family. That being said, patience is key for beginners. There were moments of frustration, especially when learning more complex stitches or if I lost my place in the pattern. But with a bit of perseverance, the end results were totally rewarding. Plus, the sense of accomplishment after completing each coaster was unbeatable.

This is super cute but I’m not sure that it’s beginner friendly. I’ve never crocheted before and had to look up other tutorials on the internet before even attempting any of their videos

The box after opening the Amazon package was dented everywhere had rips in the cardboard, and the seal was already cut open. Product looks good online but disappointed with the product since it came opened and damaged.

This is not for beginners. I bought this kit to try to teach someone who wants to crochet flowers. The instructions are complex. YouTube videos are suggested. My student is in her 80’s with no internet. The yarn strands separate as one stitches. I do not recommend this for beginners.

It's a pretty neat little set. The included instructions and materials cover all the basics. The kit includes different yarns, hooks, needles, and other tools you need to get started. But even with the manual, I found the actual crocheting to be quite challenging as a beginner. You really need to have the patience and dexterity to work with those hooks and needles. At this point, I think I'd be better off gifting this kit to someone who's more experienced and patient in the crafty arts. But it's got all the essentials to get a newbie like me started on their crochet journey, if they've got the skill and determination to stick with it.

I purchased the colorful one, had to change all the colors and try to change to match the neutral color. Took longer to figure it out with the colors I had. Still good I finished one at least, had a lot of problems with the thread splitting and catching on the hook. I would give this to a friend that is more advanced that can take the stress of splitting yarn
