Small, wrinkled at the edges, not solidly packed. I needed something, though, and I will say this for it: it appears to be filled with sawdust, which is what you want. And no smell of any kind. I only bought this because I didn't have time to get a vintage one from eBay, nor custom one from Etsy. Apparently, most of the modern ones sold for home use are small and low-quality. Next time, I will save up for a professional one, or I will make my own. I did get this on time, so that's good.

Note that if the package looks dirty when you first get it, that's just the little bits of sawdust stuffing that have gotten beaten out of it in transit. Give it a few smacks over the trash can and it'll be good to go. I like this ham a lot! I've gotten a lot of use out of it and I havent had any issues.
