Ok so. I bought and put one in my Squire mini strat bridge that I keep In my vehicle, and play during work breaks. cuz why not, right?Out of the box: it’s light weight with very thin shielded wire and solder joints. Try not to handle harshly, until into the pickguard. Which this model (pictured), is direct fit without any mod to any strat pickguard. These pickups are NOT wax potted! Which I did before installing. Yet still is a little microphonic even after potting but no killer feedback. Installed a switch for split coil…don’t bother! Unfortunately If split, it basically whispers way quieter than the stock single coils. So just keep the green and white wire together for series. Now my switch will soon be re wired for 7 way “Gilmour switch mod”. There is a noticeable difference with a grunge like tone, and also easier for high pinch harmonics and string bends once installed, more gain and sustain is definitely there. But I’m still yet biased, if enough. Instructions say to wire (red-hot, black-ground) Other buyers say (black-hot, red-ground) for strat phasing. For this particular pick up in the bridge, in my particular mini strat. if wired in strat phase wiring, with the stock middle and neck singles. Hot rail in bridge sounded weak and gurgled. So I rewired this hot rail per instruction (red-hot, black-ground). And personally found the sound to be much more clear. Over all great pickup in value for money. Gives noticeable higher highs, and lower lows. And I’ll keep it in. At the price they sell for, I’m sure they aren’t all crafted within the same spec or without flaw. But for what they are, you still get more than what a stock single coil puts out. Perfect especially in Squire’s or any strat knock off for that matter. What have you got to lose to try one for the price?

Fungerar utmärkt i gammal halvakustisk gitarr. Kan inte riktigt bedöma ljudkvaliteten annat än att det låter precis som jag förväntade mig och inget störande brus eller annat.

Yeah it fit OK and documentation was good. At 9 ohms it's not high output and mine just got to 8.54 @ 68f. Sound is OK but I gotta install a treble bleed to see if it can really put out some tones.

Installé sur une basse Squier Bronco en remplacement du micro d'origine simple bobinage qui était bien trop bruyant. Maintenant, c'est absolument silencieux. Le son est assez chaud. Il faut quand même savoir démonter une basse et savoir souder.

Bought a used Squire Bronco bass and didn’t like the hum from the stock pickup. Also didn’t want to spend more than the guitar. The stock pickup is a six post guitar pickup and not truly for a bass. This Musiclily was well within my price range and a perfect fit into existing pick guard. The screw holes aren’t threaded but since it’s made of plastic it wasn’t too hard to self tap with provided screws. Just needs a bit of pressure. Most of all the hum with this humbucker pickup is gone and the sound difference isn’t too noticeable compared to the stock pickup. It’s also louder.

I put 3 of these into an '08 Squier CV 50's, 2 tone sunburst with aged white pearl aftermarket 1 ply pickguard. The aged white set looks great. The sound is far superior to the very good stock single coils. I put in cts high quality pots a500k tone and b500k for the volume pot. 22ohm cap. Cloth push back wire. Paste Flux to aid with the flow of the solder. This CV 50's looks and sounds like a new guitar. Very quiet. Very powerful pickups with full deep bass tone and dynamic mids and highs. Excellent upgrade and greatly improved tone. Lots of drive when you turn up the volumes. These heavy pickups transformed my 2 tone sunburst CV strat.

it performs well, barely any hum, clearer, and looks nice, it fits aell but it dependa on what size hole is in your pickguard. this is worth it for the monry, i dont even know much about soldering, which wite goes where, but just with the dkagram it was pretty easy, the bare wire thats connected worh the ground wire disconnects when you try to solder them together to just use elctrical tape, dont touch the bare while it being soldered, it gets burning hot lol,

With the expectation of getting what you pay for, a cheap pickup, I’d give this a 5/5. It sounds decent and not brittle like cheap import stray pickups. Compared to something nicer, I’d probably give this 3/5 or 4/5, but it was only $12 so can’t complain. Mine measured 9.75k. Like most reviewers have said, this is either not wax potted, or at least not wax potted well. I don’t play loud so not a big deal, but I’ll probably wax pot it in the future. Unlike other reviewers, I was able to carefully remove the cover by first sliding my fingernail all the way around between the cover and pickup, followed by a guitar pick, and then carefully pried it off. If you are slow and gentle you’ll probably damage the coil and kill the pickup. With the cover removed I was able to fit it inside of the mustang style pickup cover in my Fender Musicmaster. Definitely a warmer sound than the single coil it replaced (a pinch less treble and a pinch more bass) but the tonality is still somewhat similar and of course hum free.
