Secure your shipping containers from theft and unauthorized access with Mytee Products’ Bolt-On & Detachable Shipping Container Lock Box. It will hide and protect your padlock/hasp from getting noticed or cut off with bolt cutters. It has a low profile design that reduces the area and cannot be knocked off with a sledgehammer. It’s a bolt-on style lock box, which includes all the installation hardware and you don’t need welding. You can use these locks in standard van trailers too. Learn more about this product below:
- Secure Design: Our bolt-on container lock strongly deters thieves following its sturdy design that hides the lock beneath. It is a two-part piece that includes a bolt-on lock box and guard plate with pre-drilled holes. These are contoured to fit flush with the doors of the shipping containers. Further, you have to attach the hasp to the guard plate that
- No Welding Required: Our shipping container lock is available in a bolt-on and detachable mechanism. That means you don’t need welding but you need to drill holes in the container. Additionally, it will enable you to reuse the lock box more than once on different containers.
- Installation Hardware Included: You will find all the necessary hardware with this shipping container lock box—bolts, washers, and screws. These are the exact sizes of pre-drilled holes in the lockbox and guard plate. However, the padlock is not included. It’s sold separately.
- Durable Material: We have specifically used mild steel for its robust structure and strength, giving less room and leverage to thieves to cut the lock. It further restricts access with a crowbar. Additionally, we have applied durable powder-coating - textured black- to prevent it from weather, like rain, sunlight, moisture, etc. It further protects against corrosion.
- Hassle-Free Assembly: Select a place near the door opening and drill the holes to bolt-on the lockbox. Get a shackle lock/hasp that you will attach to the attachment point of the lockbox. Now, place the guard place on the other side of the container door and ensure a snug fit with bolts.

This is my second lock box. They are the best way to secure a shipping container, that I have found. Some have complained about the welds. Mine were fine. The bolts were straight. Yes, one must take their time to install it correctly. Not something to do in a hurry. After installing with bolts I welded it to the container. Now a thief must bring a cutting torch or some sort of magic to take my stuff without hours of hard work.

These are pretty straightforward not much to talk about if you have a shipping container and you don't have one of these on it your contents are not secure.

Arrived rusted. Welds are poor. Not the best quality. I will be grinding out the bubble gum welds and welding myself.

Got this installed on our shipping container & was really surprised to see that it looks like a 3rd grader welded it together. The smaller section that contains the hole for the lock to go through is super crooked. The piece of square stock with the lock hole has to be squared up with the outer box. This exaggerated the 3rd grader weld job, pushing the outer box down, causing an average size padlock to not fit. I included a couple of photos to show the lock hole is level/square to the outer box, but the frame around it is definitely not.

I get this product to go on a shiping container. THIS PRODUCT DOSE NOT FIT A STANDARD PAD LOCK. You will have to order an SPECIAL LOCK to fit it. It will cost $30 to $50 more to order the lock you CANT go to homedepo and pick one up they dont have them in stock because it special order. I wouldn't order this pad lock hood again!!!!! Also you will have to CUT YOUR DOOR GASKET to make it sit flush!!!!

the weld looks really bad on some area that didn't penetrate the metal. zinc coating wasn't done correctly alot of rust already on the item before install i will have to prime and paint the lock box before install to prevent future rust issues.
