I am no mono cartridge expert, I have 4 mono cartridges under $1000. This cartridge sounds great and competes with all of them.

Bien, mais cher. L'ergonomie du protège stylus le rend quasi inutilisable. Remarque valable pour toute la série 2M D'Otofon.

I Will say this is a very nice cartridge! My mono records sound incredible! They’re also Much quieter, meaning I don’t have any surface noise whatsoever. That being said, that it’s no better than the 2m blue is for stereo records. So I don’t know Why this needle cost so much. I mean c’mon… how many people have mono albums and how many of those people actually go to the lengths of getting a Mono cart?

This is truly a wonderful cartridge! I’m hearing detail I’ve never heard before and a warmth that adds depth and character to my mono recordings. Whether I’m listening to the Beatles mono box set or older jazz albums, I’m experiencing the music as if I’ve never heard it before. Highly recommended!

I returned this cartridge because I wasn’t getting a signal from it. Guess what? A headshell that had previously functioned just fine was to blame (!). Amazon sent a replacement within two days. Only when *that* didn’t produce a signal, either, did I figure things out. I ordered an Ortofon headshell to instill it in, and the result? My mono recordings have never sounded better. Do yourself a favor: order this cartridge AND an Ortofon headshell. You won’t be disappointed.

mounting this cartridge was easy just follow the colors as they appear on the back of the cartridge. After a few necessary weight adjustments I was playing my old 1950s 45 rpm records and they sounded just like they did 60 years ago. I am very happy with this cartridge.Dom.
