The concept is good and the wristbands themselves are actually kinda stylish but, they don't seem to repel mosquitoes very well at all. On the very first day that I wore mine, I was cooking on the charcoal grill and a mosquito landed right on my hand - the same hand that I was wearing my Para'Kito wristband on! I couldn't believe it. Was it because of all the smoke around me? Did the smoke mask the scent of the pellet? I'm not sure. I have read that wristbands are actually considered the weakest deterrent to insect bites. In any case, I have used disposable wristbands, some that I don't even like, that seemed to perform better at their intended purpose than these do. The scent pellets might work great on West European mosquitoes, but they just don't do it for North American mosquitoes. I must admit, I actually find the fragrance of the pellets much more pleasing to the nose than competing products ( actually reminiscent of "Tahiti Vanilla" ); however, more than anything else I just want them to work. They don't need to smell particularly nice, they just need to repel mosquitoes. I'll hold on to my wristband in the hopes that the manufacturer will make some new advances in the future that are to my satisfaction. In the meantime, I'll be looking elsewhere for my mosquito repellent needs.UPDATE: I have started experimenting with "NextDia Shield" mosquito wristbands. The refills are actually cross-compatible with the Para'Kito wristbands and they seem to get somewhat better results. This will be something to fall back on while I wait for the makers of Para'Kito to up their game with their proprietary repellent pellets.
