Have the older Max E Therm pod. Everything and I mean everything on Amazon is for the newer models. This is the only one I could find the correct leads/connectors. Display is better with more menu options, but kept throwing HLS codes. Replaced HLS sensor and got even more codes. So I bypassed the HLS (Google is your friend) at my own peril until I can find a compatible HLS. Otherwise works great.

I was quoted $850 from a pool service company to replace the board on my Master Temp heater and I was hesitant to do it because my heater manufacture date sticker says it is 17 years old ...! The guys at the pool company agreed it may not be the best idea to invest in that heater and in a last ditch effort to buy me some time before I spend $5000 on a new unit was to order this 'used/good' Pentair board for less than half the price of a new one.It was here in 2 days and it took me about 10 minutes to pop it in to my heater ... I had the whole thing apart anyway so it was just a matter of pulling each connector off the original board and attaching it to the new one. It fired right up and my heater is working great!

My Pentair Mastertemp 300 would cycle through several starts first thing in the morning when the pump started and then become completely unresponsive. Would not turn on or off, could not adjust temp. I would turn the the breaker off for 4-5 minutes, nothing. It took me about 15 minutes to install the new control panel. Started right up, working like normal again.

Used this to replace a 10 yr old Pentair Mastertemp 400 control board that was failing. Solved the issue, easy to install. Information was not clear that it also included the keypad. Could have used more instructions for older systems especially when the Pentair control center is turning the heater on/off. Need to set the Spa and Pool temps as high as allowed so the heater just functions as on/off locally.

Great replacement for my Pentair MasterTemp 250, very easy to install, including the membrane pad, which came included with the board. It would have been nice for the website to say it was included; it would have saved me the time and trouble of ordering a separate one, which I now have to return. Overall, an excellent investment, knowing it's a Pentair authorized product, and not a knockoff, which would be a real performance gamble.

My 14yo controller board was toast. I spent the extra to buy an OEM board rather than a generic copy. I'm glad I did. It arrived in Pentair packaging with manual and a brand new membrain keypad.Make sure you have an "anti-static wrist strap" for installation to prevent damage to the board. Make sure the breaker is off also.Installation: (1) Remove the old board and membrain keypad. (2) Install the new membrain keypad. (3) Install all the wiring on the new board being careful to support the back of the board to prevent flex. (4) With a second person screw the new board into the lid. (5) Attach the keypad connector (6) Carefully replace the lid on the unit.Turn everything on and enjoy your heater!

All I get is a bunch of I am sorry. Previous board lasted 10 years. And I can't get even half of that. Pentair has a lousy 1 year warranty. This company pushes you off to Pentair. A bunch of I am sorry and fingers pointing to each other. I am so sick of the lack of quality products on this site. Its all crap that don't even last 2 years. Instead of Amazon taking in thousands of dollars daily from us. Why not force your Vendors to actually back up their crappy products something more then 30-60 days. Its all a freaking joke, and we are the punch line. I'll spend my $$$$ elsewhere. Let someone else have a turn. So sick of you Amazon and your cheap crap that last as long as this review.

Replacing this Control Board kept me from following my pool service company's advice to replace the whole heater unit. It saved me a LARGE amount of money. I used the manual that came with the Max-E-Therm spa/pool heater to trouble shoot the problem that kept my unit from working, so I was fairly certain this was the unit that needed replacing. Installation was straight-forward. I also replaced the Switch Membrane and the thermistor for the unit for my own peace of mind. They might not have been necessary to replace, but I didn't want to have to order them later if they were needed. I use the heater only to heat a spa and control the unit from the on board key pad. If you operate your heater remotely, you may need a different board and control membrane, and you also need to be sure you are using the proper sensor in the heater exhaust stack, so be sure you are ordering the correct parts or you will end up frustrated.
