This massive shock body allows the RS9000XL to run cooler and more consistent even under the most demanding towing conditions, enhancing performance and durability, and is constructed with a larger than typical 18-mm diameter chromed piston rod. Rancho RS9000XL shock series are engineered with nine position tuning technology that provides nine different levels of shock performance. These premium shocks also have polyurethane bushings that enhance shock performance and durability along with a boot that protects the shock rod and oil seal.

I put these on my 2010 F450 about 8500 miles ago. Along with the RS9000XL shocks for the front. The ability to change the shock settings is pretty handy with the rough ride of the F450. I can turn them up when I'm pulling my trailer and turn them down when I'm driving empty. That being said, one of the rear shocks blew a seal out and emptied all of the oil out somewhere in that 8500 miles. I found this right before a 3000 mile trip I was going to take and didnt have the time to send the busted one in, have Rancho look it over, and send me a replacement. So I just went ahead and bought another one. For the most part these seem like decent shocks. All I'd say is make sure you register them for the lifetime warranty and keep your receipt in case this happens to you.

Helped stabilize the truck. The ability to change the shocks is great depending on what is towing or in the bed of the truck. Simple install. Great product.

This is an early report because I won't be fine tuning the settings as long as I am dealing with two feet of snow. Still, the improvement in ride is dramatic. The factory shocks on my F250 were also Ranchos, but obviously a cheap OEM model. I am kicking myself for waiting to 100,000 miles to replace them.

I ordered front (RS999267) and rear (RS999273) shocks for my 2004 diesel F250 4x4. I started with the front mostly due to feedback from the reviews. Easy to replace, took 30 minutes per side mostly due to removing the tire. Then the back... which were super easy... 15 minutes per side, no need to remove tires or spare. I did use a board and floor jack to lift the frame up 4-5 inches to make it easy... don't lift tires from ground, as you lift under hitch it raises the frame nicely and gives you plenty of room to work. One shock opened was an apparent return, it was missing paperwork and a tie wrap. Not a big deal however shock 4 as i was putting it on was was to be bad. I had to remove the end i had already put on, put an old shock back on the truck, and contact the company for replacement. That took 5 days to receive and me contacting the company several times to get the bad one returned as they fouled up the paperwork twice. Finally everything done only for them to look cheap and crappy with a tie wrap on each shock to hold the rubber boot on. The red rubber boot is slit on two sides on the bottom to fit around the shock and a black tie wrap is placed around it to hold it in place. Very visible and looks CHEAP! Not very professional and takes away the happy proud feeling i have when looking at my truck.

Arrived fast, fit perfectly, Love the fact that it is adjustable and I would recommend this shock to anyone who is in the market for new shocks at an affordable price.

I put two of the Rancho 9000's on the rear of my F250 2004 diesel truck. I had pulled my 35 ft 5th wheel to Alaska and noticed the trailer seemed to bounce a lot. I put on the new shocks for the trip back to the lower 48. I started out on the highest setting of 9. It definitely made a big difference. I eventually turned them down to 7 which I felt was a better ride and still stopped excessive bounce. I love the shocks and would recommend them.

These shocks make a significant difference, these are the only shocks capable of holding the wheels on the road with varying load. I've had other adjustable shocks and these are by far the best quality I've ever owned.
