About this item

  • Passive Humbucker Set with Sentient Neck Pickup Pegasus Bridge Pickup

The Pegasus bridge was originally designed for extended range instruments. However, 6 string players immediately demanded we offer a version to call their own. It incorporates an alnico 5 bar magnet and custom winding specs. The goal was to deliver a warm, balanced, responsive, and lush tone for progressive metal. It's a harmonically rich pickup with a prominent midrange and a focused low end. The high resonant peak makes for a sparkly top end and an incredible "bloom" on chords in high-gain situations. The responsive and accurate pick attack ensures that you will cut through any live mix, and will have tight-tracking transients in a studio environment. Because the Pegasus is a moderate output pickup, it works as well for clean tones as it does for distorted tones. The Sentient neck delivers a balanced, versatile tone that fits right between the '59 model and the Jazz neck pickup. You'll get pristine cleans and fluid leads under high gain. The Sentient is a very articulate vintage output pickup with great dynamic response and a wide harmonic range. It works great for low tunings in all humbucker-equipped guitars.

The pickups appear to be unused, but the plastic box was broken & scratched - I was obviously not the first purchaser. This was a resold return.

These pickup are great for metal. They are warm and a tiny bit more "basey" then EMGs. I use them in my primary guitar for stage and recordings.

These pickups are great. They compliment each other really well. They are moderate output pickups with a great midrange punch. I am a BC Rich fan and I love the BC Rich BDSM pickups for that reason. I love the tone of the Seymour Duncan YJM Furies and the Pegasus / Sentinent combination are close to it. I have put this set in a Schecter Omen 6. I have a custom build I am working on and this pickup combination is going into it

I was on the fence originally but then decided to replace my guitar's stock pickups by these set. I was also using an alnico V set for heavy/metal and was quite happy with it but the original bridge was lacking oomph and the neck gain. The set is just fantastic. The neck sings, cleanly. The bridge packs a punch. I also like very much the cleans at the middle position using both the Pegasus/Sentient combined.Highly recommended :)

Big presence, clear tones; no sacrificing clarity for power.

I got this for my 6 string Ltd as I wanted to try this set. I have had the 7 string version of the sibling set in my 7 string for a while and I absolutely loved the nazgul. It was extremely sensitive to pick attack and was extremely articulated. The Pegasus bridge isnt as sensitive to attack and is a lot warmer , which is honestly the only thing i don't like about the Pegasus. I wont be sending it back as i do in fact like it a lot and it definitely does fill in some tonalities that the nazgul lacks. In short, the Pegasus is more suited for hard rock than it is for prog so far (I have only had 1 1/2 hours so far with it and these are just my first impressions on it), but it is more than Capable of doing so. It has amazing cleans and will provide great distorted tones. 4/5

Love the pickups! Nice, thick tone with attitude. The Sentient cleans up nicely too. Used them to replace stock Gibson pickups in SG Special.
