I really put these through the ringer and they have always held up. Only have to replace because I loose a set overboard every couple years...

...but be prepared to make a modification or two. Peening the ends of the pins isn't an intuitive method of installation, and from a less-than-stellar peening job on my part, one of my pins immediately slid out of the oar lock and fell into the lake, so I'll never get it back.So forget the pins and do what I did: buy a small package of 10-24 x 2 1/2" machine screws with nuts; they cost about a dollar at Walmart. Set your oar in the oar lock, then slide one of those machine screws through both tines of the oar lock, and then secure the screw with a nut and tighten it. Done! Now your oar's never popping out!You can come up with your own cotter pins to secure the oar locks in their mounting holes. I used a couple of 1/8" Quick Links for mine; they're cheap too.

I have no review since I haven't used these Shoreline Marine chrome Zamak oarlock horns yet (I was required to give a star rating, so I chose 3), but since the dimensions are key to choosing a product like this, I'm sending a photo of the back of the package, which has them shown clearly on a figure. Also, the manufacturer figure doesn't show it, but I measured the distance of the narrowest place between the horn tips, that is, where the oar would have to fit through when setting it into these horns and it is 1.75 inches, as one would expect since these are rated to be used with 1.75 inch oars.

The product appears well made but did not work on my pontoon boat - water skeeter. The manufacturer went out of business and parts are no longer available. So Iwas hoping this would work.

These oarlock horns were a little too short for the bases built into the aluminum skiff but that wasn't an issue. A plastic covered wire attached to the insert's base attached to a washer wider than the insert ID was a quick and easy way to ensure they don't fall out, without impeding the action of the oars........if and when they may be needed, in case the outboard quits.

The pins that go across the top that would appear to lock the oar in have no fastening mechanism. The pins can just fall/slide out, there is nothing holding them in place. I really don't understand the point of them.

Overall these things look and feel good. Took the boat out the other day to test thema and they did great. However, I did have to get creative with fastening them to my boat because the shaft was not long enough and I ended up using the included pins to hold the oares in the locks. I would recommend this product.
