Love these jar rings, now in opaque clear silicone. They're soft, flexible, easy to clean, fit on easily, and create an airtight seal. No more dry cracked old red rubber type. These are modern and attractive, fitting into all decor and updating my kitchen storage jars on display. I highly recommend these for your lock lid jars to replace any old rings. Don't have to worry when finding thrift store/old jars, now these can bring new life to old canisters.

They provide a seal between the glass of the jar and the glass of the lid - as per my need. They fit over the jar rim but loosely, not tight - but that doesn't affect function, really. They're WAY too wide, so they interfere with the clamp-down wire, but a scissors solves that problem and you can do the cutting right off the jar so you don't go wrong.In short, they're very much imperfect but also very much functional. Only time will tell how well they withstand clamp-pressure and indirect UV light over time.
